Can't wait. Sure to be a showcase for the fresh-faced, full-of-promise young Spurs defender from overseas everyone wants a look at.

Talking of course about Captain(!) Bongani Khumalo.

Would have been funny, but he is 28 so wouldn't call him a fresh faced young defender ;)

One thing that I'm not sure our good friends on the other side of the pond are aware of is that Yedlin has improved leaps and bounds every time he's stepped up a level in his career. He has tremendous upside, not only because of his pace and strength for a fairly small guy, but also because he's an intelligent player. He doesn't have to rely on his physical attributes, although as a young player he often does just that. But he has the capacity to continue to learn the game.

One other thing. He has a very low center of gravity and has quite good footwork, thus he's less prone to getting his feet caught underneath him. He won't often get left for dead by tricky, pacy wingers running at him, but when he does, he has the speed to recover quickly.

All this said, I really hope (and expect) Poch brings him along slowly, and without too much pressure on him.

Clearly poch doesnt rate him. Hasnt been in the squad yet and he released him to the US for camp cupcake with 2 friendlys against Chile and Panama(Jan 28 and Feb 8 respectively).

Thanks for that update. I am annoyed that Yedlin has left us at this time. But isn't it a FIFA rule that teams must release players if selected for international duty?

He's 21, been here a month, and come from a much lower league. Try and be realistic and stop being blinded just because Yedlin's American.

What the fuck are you on? I just said he doesnt rate him. Try some reading comprehension next time.
How do you know he doesn't rate him just because he hasn't been in the squad in the first few bloody weeks?

From what I saw at his u21 game he really didn't look ready. Poch has no need to rush him as we have Walker, Chiriches, Dier and Kaboul who can play RB. Plus Fredericks and KWP if it's an emergency. He's been training and this is a good opportunity ot get some competitive game time

Uhh because he hasnt even been at the club for a month and they let him go to the US' camp cupcake for 2 weeks instead of letting him settle into the club and the surroundings more.

So Poch doesn't rate him- great conclusion. I guess Pochettino rates none of our U21s then because they haven't all been in the first team :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Because that's what Yedlin is at the moment. A U21 player. And there's nothing wrong with that.

I agree with you but it wasn't just Yankspurs who thought Yedlin would waltz straight into our match day squad.

Most had him as a better RB than Naughton and Vlad before he even kicked a ball.

Make that nobody not most. Quite a few of us have seen clips of Yedlin playing and are excited by him and can't wait for him to start for the first team .
