Are you just shitting in every player thread. ???

No, judging their performances objectively, which seems a hard thing to do for some people. Especially regarding fan favourites.

And I don't see how it's "shitting" on him by saying he did good things but was lucky not to have cost us points - which is a pretty objective point to make seeing as his missed pass directly led Aguero's shot into the post. Not to mention some of his other misses.

I want to see him start every match he's fit for the rest of the season. I think it's getting closer to the time to view Vertonghen as being in his last 5 months at the club. Give Davinson the time and ride with him through the ups and downs and hopefully come the end of the season he's ironed some of the errors out and can feel more comfortable in his standing in defense. He is so, so talented.

Im not keen on him much either which doesnt seem a very popular opinion but there it is. I'll explain why.
He looks uncomfortable every time he receives the ball and either passes it back to Toby or wherever it came from, or Lloris. Even today when he did try to go forward he passed it straight to a Man City player putting us in real trouble twice, which thankfully was capitalised on.
Then theres dealing with 50/50s when on the move. He rarely comes out on top. Today as we defended so deep that weakness didnt show.
Finally he cant deal with high balls. Misjudges the flight of the ball too regularly which reared its head again today when he smashed it off the crossbar.
Whats strange is I thought he was actually doing well when Toby was injured for a lond time and he was partnered with Verts but ever since Toby returned he's looked half the player imo. Maybe confidence, who knows. Maybe because we've been without a recognised dm since then?
I'm not ready to write him off just yet but it fills me with dread when I see his name in the starting 11.
Sorry.

We've been saying that for the last 2 1/2 years, Tanganga is in front of him now so Sanchez is know a squad player at best.

A lot of people disagreeing which is fine so how long should we give him to iron out his faults ? the crazy thing is Tanganga is nearly 3 years younger but with no obvious faults and can kick with his left foot.

How is Tanganga over him? He’s been playing fullback.

Sanchez is still young for a PL CB and the only way he's going to improve is by playing. I do find it slightly amusing that we somehow managed to buy an Ajax player who isn't comfortable in possession, but such is life.

Sanchez is underrated. He's 23 years old and already has 150 appearances with Spurs and Ajax playing in the highest level of competitions plus 30 international caps for quality footballing country.

I'll never forget him stepping into a starting role at age 21 right when he arrived from Ajax during Toby's injury plagued season of 17/18 and hardly missing a beat next to Vertonghen.

Centerbacks are the slowest developing position and he could improve a few things, especially in possession. But we're extremely lucky to have him, he could be at the center of our defense for the next 10 years.

He could still develop into a top class centre back but he seems to have at least one mistake in him in each match and somehow needs to cut that out.

Still see some people slagging off a 23 year old centre back......! We as a team are becoming defensively more solid which means that funnily enough both Sanchez and Toby look better as they haven’t got attack after attack coming at them constantly.

Sanchez played really well against Man City and actually think he played in his best position which is left sided centre back. He always looks more comfortable there than he does on the right side.

I still contend that Sanchez coming into the mayhem of the PL from abroad at 21 years of age, in such a challenging position for a young player as CB, and being a first-team starter from his first day, in a CL-quality squad, is one of the most remarkable things I've seen in the PL era. Still wildly underappreciated outside of Spurs what an achievement that's been, and continues to be.

I'm not slagging him off, just don't rate him and can't see him improving enough to warrant a first team spot.

Crikey what game was you watching, everytime he got the ball he was like a rabbit caught in the headlights, didn't know what to do with the ball and either passed sideways to Alderweireld or back to LLoris.
