I have previously stated he is carrying tight hamstrings!
And for that reason I am happy he was rested today. I am just saying, when deemed fit, he needs to slot in instantly (hopefully next weekend). I think our CB problem will be massively reduced once he's back.

Amazing how his body language has changed since Mourinho took over. One of the few really bright spots.

First 30 mins thought I thought the penny was finally dropping with him not to rely on pace & anticapate danger.. Then Salah faced him up & his brain turned to mush.. Even on the goal who I blame Toby for heading into danger area instead of out wide, the phase before the throw in he had a chance to sound the ball 40 yards from his goal & out of play, he didn't & dallied & played himself into trouble before eventually giving away a throw in our own half because he doesn't think like a defender.. Second half again he done lots of good things however there were moments he was woefully positionally poor & a better pass by a Liverpool would of exposed it.. Then there was headless runs into midfield & just sauntering back when ball was lost, one moment I was screaming at him just look around you & pick Oxlade Chamberlain as a runner he done nothing in the phase & just passed on responsibility.. He doesn't think like a defender & I blame his coaching as a teenager not him.. Only people that would rate him are the same idiots that rate Harry Maguire

Still the odd moment where he lost focus. (One where he was very lucky as Salah came on his blindside in the box and he had no idea he was there, and could easily have led to a goal or pen) but much better and didn't look out of place at LCB, best he's looked there in fact

He's going to be OK.

In fact he's one of the few players in the squad who is actually nailed on in the team going forward.

Sanchez, Kane, Son... Ndombele if he can get fit. Past that not too players many you can say are locked down.

Funny old game for Dave tonight. However I’m not going to judge him on this game considering he was a colossus against Liverpool the other day. As long as he has a good partner I think he will be a tremendous centre back.

I'd say judging the flight of balls is clearly the area he needs to develop more and that wind is his kryptonite.

He really doesn't like defending a high ball does he. In his defence for today, he wasn't the only stuggling to read the flight of the ball, twas gusty.

Doesn't like the ball in the air, iffy with the ball at his feet. As long as the game is played at waist height we'll be ok

He seems at his best when he doesn't have to think. I think in the slower paced games or against lesser oppositions he struggles sometimes but when backs are against the wall he normally shines.

The commentators did annoy me a little bit yesterday, personally think he has been our best player in recent months, and the first time he has a bad game his overall quality is repeatedly questioned by the commentators.

Not sure it was the wind last night or what but he lost the long ball a couple of times.
