Fair play, very useful squad player and his been excellent when called up this season.

Fantastic pro to have around the place too.

I have always felt he’s not good enough to be a starter if we want to get back to title races and cup finals etc but as a squad player and consummate pro there aren’t many better and credit where it’s due he’s actually improved under Ange this season and his filled in so well at LCB.

Congrats Ben, well deserved extension.

Huh? It's not a new extension... check the date of the twitter post - July 25th 2022, when that deal was signed.

I think it's more a clarification from the above posted that Davies contract doesn't run out end of this season but after the next one.

this guy must be a managers dream.......Mr reliable, quietly goes about his business and after the last few games im thinking a RCB is more urgent (to back up Romero) than LCB.

Was coming to post the same thing. Ideally I want a CB with pace who can play either side, but I’m 100% more comfortable with Davies than Royal filling in at CB

If we get a centre back I don't see any need. The centre back can partner either Romero or VdV and Davies can cover left back. Nothing wrong with a player covering a couple of positions. I'm optimistic VdV will be back early Jan time anyway. Davies is good for left back or left centre back and well deserves the contract.

That and the experience he brings to the squad is hard to put a price on. He's had his ups and downs like any player would but has been an absolute professional on and off the pitch. Didn't he get a degree in Economics a couple of years back as well?

To be fair, Davies has been excellent covering for VdV. Hes a good player. A great player to have in the squad.
Great tackle right after our first goal against newcastle.

I've always had a bit of an issue with Davies that I genuinely can't explain, but he's been phenomenal in the absence of VdV and integral in that win tonight. Credit where credit is due!
