So only three new registrations allowed for CL, and our squad is already at the limits (17 foreign + 8 HG). With Doherty, Gil, and Spence (HG) now going out on loan, and Danjuma + Porro replacing them... that leaves only 1 HG space in the squad, right? We can't even register Hincapie or Zaniolo, let alone a 4th.
Unless we take out someone already on the list, who might be leaving soon…?

Looking like the summer is going to be incredibly busy for CB reinforcements. Lenglet will return from loan, Tanganga/Sanchez are surefire sales, Dier may be, too. And, on top of that we need a new GK. I guess how much work is needed there will depend on if Conte stays, and if not, what formation a new coach will bring. But with pushing off costs of Danjuma (if option is taken), Deki and Porro, I hope we have a really good plan in place because it’s going to take a lot of money to get this position figured out.

He posted that about an hour ago as well, I appreciate people get info at different times but POK saying we got knocked back by them….
That was in the media a couple of days ago, before news of our apparent bid.
Was in the front page section on here so it's nothing new, just PoK regurgitating.

Half of that could have been written last June.

I'm sure we'll get round to addressing the pressing issues in the last week of August

Well we haven't got long.
The Bundesliga deadline is at 18:00 CET, so he would have to at least be on the official list of outgoings by then, even if there was still work to be done on player to spurs contract end (if my memory serves).
The deadline is the signing teams transfer window closing so we would have to register our intent to sign by 9pm tonight

Get ready for a whole summer of trying to sell them before we can buy anyone! ?
Exactly, we all know we will be left short again. Why did we wait late in the window to make moves on Hincapie?

why does Levy think selling clubs get desperate and that represents better value for us - then ultimately delivers faaack all.

My issue with the ownership of the club is this lack of strategy, everything is just opportunistic

It's why I'd really like us to get a CB this window. You can't build a whole new defence and expect them to gel straight away or be slotting into a system straight away. Porro, Udogie, Romero and a new CB this window would make the summer much easier if we include the need for a Lloris replacement as well.

If we cant get him this window I hope we continue to have negotiations and organise it for the summer. It really would be good to get one centre back done and dusted for then.

Yeah, totally agree. Just seems like it’s probably not going to happen given there’s like a few hours left and basically everyone is saying Porro is it. January is always a tough market, but we’ve had some success with it so it leads you to have a little bit of higher hopes to address an obvious need.

I personally think our addressing of needs has not been as bad as some make out. I think the communication and understanding from the people who pull the trigger on deals and Conte himself needs to be better, for sure. I’m sure Levy trying to balance his Modus Operandi (cheaper talent with more sell-on potential) vs. Conte (buying winners) only convolutes things. But, I think for the most part they have understood where the squad limitations are, and have attempted to address them. Maybe if Conte commits for a longer term, that stuff can be ironed out a bit. It really has to be.

Considering we have spent £10m on 2 loan deals, the club should be buying Hincapie today or another cb otherwise the lack of ambition is damning compared to our rivals and most other PL clubs.

we need so many positions addressed, we need a cb in this window otherwise it leaves far too many positions to fill for the summer.

it would also show Kane and conte (or any other incoming manager) that we are trying to address things and challenge.

We clearly are trying to sign him or someone else. Unfortunately its just not as simple as just buying someone. The selling club have to agree. We could offer a record fee and they don't have to accept.

I know people will say we won't offer a record fee but it's only hypothetical to make a point.

I hope this does get done but I understand if it doesn't. A lot of things have to fall our way
