The thought of signing Phil Neville is about as appealing as an unprotected bumming from Sol Campbell.

The guys on the Everton fans forum, Blue Kipper reckon that Neville to Spurs is a nailed on certainty :bang: and that they should be getting Sandro and Krancjar on loan with a view to a permanent transfer for Niko.

Seem to think that Harry will play Neville over Palacios in the middle alongside modric?? If we do end up getting Neville and i pray to god that we don't i'd rather him as a holding midfielder than a full back!

I dont know why we would want Neville, I could just about understand Pienaar (though we have a bit of surplus in midfield at the moment) but Neville? Even if he was to be covering LB I still think we have better options with bassong/corluka covering, or just to buy some young talent for the same price/cheaper than the 3m quoted for neville. I dont really see what kind of beneficial impact someone like Phil Neville would have with our squad. Beckham/Giggs/Scholes=. Phil Neville=

Wow. I would play :

Hudd
Palacios
Pienaar
Kranjar
Jenas
Ohara
and maybe Sandro before him.

Not that I dont rate him, I just dont see him commanding a starting place. Maybe if we had an injury he would come off the bench otherwise . . :-|

To be fair he was exceptional against us - twice.
He's a leader, a real voice on the field at Everton and would be a decent signing for that reason. He'd offer more to the team than Jenas, Kranjcar O'Hara and Sandro this season.

Yeah him and the RM working in tandem played well against us, i do remember him fouling bale when he didnt have support from someone else, and sandwiching crouch with jagielka a few times in the penalty area . . . With the likes of Gallas/Dawson/VDV we've got leaders on the pitch. And selling Ohara only to replace him with neville would be a strange move i think.

Signing him would be marginally better than waking up with Ann Widdecombe but only just.

I can't believe I seem to be the only person who thinks he's a bloody good player with a couple of years left.

He would be a massive improvement on Hutton at right back, sign him. The people who go on about how personalities don't mean a thing, i think are totally misguided. Look at keane at utd, viera at arsenal and Mackay at spurs. I honestly think that at the top level players with winning personalities( i don't mean good blokes) are as important as having players with just ability. FFS Redknapp knows this and he knows more than everyone on this site. Probably!

Why the fuck not. I've given up. Might as well give up completely. Kanu is available too.
