Would people here sign the petition if we were in west ham's position or would Levy be hailed as a genius for such a deal?
I would, its wrong and the stadium should be an athletics only stadium, Its why I didn't want it

We wouldn't be in the same position, because we wanted to bulldoze the stadium and build our own instead.

So you would sign the petition?

No, but i don't expect west ham fans to sign the petition either.

If one of my family murdered 20 people, it would be wrong. Doesn't mean i'd give evidence against them.

I wouldn't, because petitions are useless.

Clearly they're not. Do you think Duncan-Smith wanted to release the figures on the number of deaths of disabled people told they were fit for work by his department? Or that Cameron wanted to allow refugees into this country?

This is where we differ because I definitely would, I'm not saying I would find it easy but I would do it.
If your evidence was crucial, the difference between them going free or going in jail, you still wouldn't do it?
You'd let the person be free on the streets to murder again?

Not sure if its they do with the petition but according to the BBC this morning the authorities have been ordered to give details of the deal with West Ham following a freedom of information request.

I'd do everything i could to make sure that they never did it again. But i wouldn't give evidence against them.

It's easy to underestimate the influence they can have. It only takes 100,000 signatures and a petition has to be debated in parliament. Petitions will also lead to other campaigning methods such as donating, or writing to MPs, who may or may not take an issue up in parliament. It's not as simple as start a petition, something gets done, but public pressure instigated by petitions can and do have an influence. On Monday a parliamentary debate was held on the contracts and conditions of NHS staff caused by government cuts which was done so because of a petition. The decision to not sell off the undercroft at Southbank for further gentrification was reached as a result of heavy and consistent campaigning which was based around a petition.

listening to SSN and Boris being questioned this Olympic Stadium will make Wet Spam very rich, very quick, and that irritating reporter Kaveh Solhekol saying he has been in touch with Wet Spam and they are saying that over a time they will be giving back 100's of millions back to the tax payer? HOW by paying 2.5m a season? by sounds of it, they will only be paying their playing/backroom staff.

an absolute joke, and wrecked my hopes of 1 day they would go out of business, HATE the TEAM and the owners and C*** Fans

Well it depends, the Olympic Legacy Spokes person said WHam do not get any money from stadium sponsorship, concerts, non-match day sponsorship or corporate hospitality, they basically only get the stadium for use on match days only. If that is the case, and we will find out if that is true now, then it won't make West Ham very rich very quickly. Its the ability to utilise the full commercial benefits of a large stadium that makes it a money spinner - Newcastle have a stadium of the capacity West Ham will have at the Olympic stadium give or take a few thousand, but Newcastle aren't a rich club. You've got to be able to design the stadium to maximise your brand and your commercial revenues.

the person throwing the bits at Boris yesterday came out with that over the season they would be paying the so called 2.5m rent, and the cost that 91 other League clubs around the country have to pay, Wet Spam won't.

Policing
Turnstile staff
to keep the ground maintained
they won't even have to buy the goals or corner flags.

in return they will receive up to 80m in corporate hospitality for their matches, and the season ticket money, and ticket sales as what will most probably be sold over talksport for £2.50 per adult and 50p for juniors, so they can fill it.

Does that mean that is the stadium is sponsored then the naming rights goes to the government? That is normally a money spinner so the tax payer would at least benefit from that. I haven't heard about any potential naming rights deal though, has anyone else?

Well we don't know for sure, hence why the freedom of information response is going to be very interesting.
