Ok.

A lot of people on SC (myself included...) had to eat a serious amount of humble pie when Pav went on his scoring spree. We had a thread 600 replies long about how he was 'Super' etc etc.

Now, it's the turn of the Crouch 'haters', suck it up and post your love for the big man!

He was fucking immense last night. Held the ball up, great footwork, scored a goal with his head, the list goes on.

So start now.

Do it.

Right now.

......please.

Much derided, not a great finisher, but he's got a lot of heart, and more than a fair amount of skill.

Played very well yesterday, good hold up and lay offs. Should have scored a couple more too

After he did score he was unbelievably good :D

He was quality last night, but IMO he hasn't shown that desire enough this season. I'm not saying Pav has when he clearly hasn't, but one great game for Crouch doesn't put him head and shoulders above the rest... no pun intended.

I don't like it when Crouch plays. We mostly resort to long ball. It gets really irritating.

Quite right too, but this thread is only about last night's game.

Yeah as someone who in the past has been less than generous in praise to Crouch, he was outstanding last night, just when we needed him to be.

There was a thread on here yesterday - who can be our hero - the big man answered that in style.

Its more to do with the confidence of other players though, after we scored nobody was doing it, but early on in the game it was mostly the likes of Kaboul and BAE who didn't feel comfortable in possession and resorted to the out ball.

Hopefully next season our team will mature and be more measured in possession even under pressure.

To be fair to BAE, he didn't half do well picking out crouch every time he hoofed it up the field. I think most of them fell straight on his head.

I agree but last night we showed that we don't have to go long every time Crouch is on the pitch. We played a good mix last night and that's what Crouchy allows you to do.

Weirdly he's probably the last of the four strikers I'd get rid of...not because he's the best but because he offers us something that no other team has.

It was in the air really. You just knew Crouch would start and that Man City would not be able to handle him. I actually thought Fulop and Toure did pretty well.

Man City had Adebayor (25 millions) and RSC (18 millions) playing in that same role as Crouch did. Which player looked best?

As we played with 2 wide players last night it wouldn't have made any sense to "hoof" the ball to Crouch. Our system worked better for Crouch himself last night and the team as a whole.

That's another thing I'd like to mention... Adebayor, a player who we have previously feared every time he plays against us, has looked absolutely dog shite both times against us this season!

Good game last night, full credit to him because he did really put a good hard shift in.

Im a Pav fan over Crouch, mainly cause we play better football with Pav and JD, but i wouldn't want Crouch to leave the club. He does have his uses and last night was one of them

dont really rate him that highly, didnt when we bought him, still dont today. but ive never said once this season he should be sold, great option to have from the bench

but not a starting striker for me, causes to much long ball footy to be played, and lacks the upper body strength most times, played great last night mind!

Crouch is a fantastic player and a great option for Spurs.

Lets not forget Bale & Lennon didn't have their best attacking games by any means but Crouch made a few chances made the keeper make some great saves and scored the important goal.

I've praised Crouch so much since he arrived and I gave Pav a lot of stick, but Pav has been good since the turn of the year but he doesn't get half the amount of stick Crouch gets when he misses a chance.

I had him in my starting line up with Pav yesterday so i'm happy that he delivered a good game and finally a goal.

He was very good...but too crawl at someones feet for scoring one goal and having a good game is a bit too much. Come back when he can string a few good games together......and scores some more goals.

Credit to the man last night. Showed he can use his feet and hold off players. Well done Crouchy!
