I'd put other forwards ahead of RVP too despite his fantastic form.

RVP is quality, yes. But for a goalscorer I'd have Falcao over him. And Edinson Cavani.

I think RVP deserved to be in the team of the year, I'd have to check how many goals he scored in 2012 for Arse and Man Utd but it's more than Falcao or Cavani isn't it?

I'm not sure, possibly but the point is that people like Merson shouldn't be surprised (or be offended) that there are even better players out there. It doesn't diminish RVP's year in anyway.

A lot of people still forget or choose to ignore the fact that it's the players that vote.

Personally the number of goals scored shouldn't be a deciding factor, it should be about the talismanic (?) impact you had on your team and what the team won as a result of that.

Tobi, granted Merson is a twat of the highest order and I would rate Falcao and RVP at about the same level right now. I did enjoy him on Soccer Saturday though, laying into the old scouse twat (whose name I've suddenly forgoten) over Suarez/Liverpool.

RVP is at the same standard or higher as Cavani and Falcao, football fans always love a bit of foriegn tart lol. I've seen all 3 play regularly and for me, Dispite how much I hate him if I had the choice of the 3 I'd pick RVP every day. As has been said he carried Arsnal for at least 2 seasons and is the difference to Man U this season.
