I've never known fans to argue and bicker with each other more than our fans. I love sitting in the south stand because of the atmosphere but I'm increasingly getting sick of having to sit amongst what I call complete pricks. Some tool was berating the section I was sitting in for not singing and not being true fans after we went 4-0 down. I understand his point but we were 4-0 down and getting well and truly owned, forgive me if I don't want to dance around singing "we are tottenham..." ( I was singing my heart out in the first half even after going 2-0 down) After having to put up with this guy calling us all "useless c**ts" for ten minutes I told him to shut up which started a mass argument amongst fans with a few getting escorted out by stewards. It was a disappointing day so we were all frustrated but it something I notice all the time even when we're winning. Anyway, rant over.

Hard one, this. I'm all for showing support to the players when they're losing (the 4-1 against Arsenal in the Carling Cup last year springs to mind) but when i've paid £50 to sit and watch the team I love lose 5-1 I think I have the right to sit about and mope a bit. I'm not going to be in the mood to sing and cheer. I usually sit in the Park Lane too (block 36 yesterday) and I must say the atmosphere wasn't as good as it can be during the game. I'm actually pretty fed up of that stand now as 90% of the match is spent arguing with the stewards and talking rather than watching the game.

Our section was fucking awful on Sunday!

A few people trying to start a "judas ****" chant for Modric. Then a group starting the "Harry for England" chant.

The amount of abuse Luka was getting was ridiculous. Especially as I thought he was probably one of our best players in the first half!

Then when van der Vaart went off, the amount of people calling him a **** for not standing around the pitch, saying rather than him leaving us with 10, just standing there would be more beneficial. Unbelievable!

Dawson was also called a useless **** on many occasions.

Then Livermore came on, got the ball, lost the ball, won the ball which he lost and became a crowd favourite instantly!

Worst bit was when Modric was substituted though, the booing was clear to hear and I can only assume the majority was boo's aimed at Modric rather than the decision to take him off as loads of people were shouting things like "fuck off to Chelsea" and "rat faced prick"!

Great when it gets to a stage that you boo your best players off the pitch.

Sadly this element of the crowd seems to be getting larger by the season. I think our relative success in the last two seasons has made some fans expect success and when they don't get it they act out like spoilt brats. It really is quite pathetic.

Of course some fans are just stupid morons regardless of how well we're doing. Someone a few rows behind me basically spent the entire time shouting 'elephant man' at Lescott or 'Nasri! Who's your dad you gippo!'

Basically he was a cast iron tit and I hope he isn't there for the long term.

Don't think this is just our fans, its football fans in general.

Although i can imagine it being worse at Spurs than any other team, because like TSH has mentioned our fans somehow think we are this massively big club who has a divine right to be top 4 and because we reached it once (under Redknapp) anything less is deemed unacceptable.

Also there is so much hate towards Redknapp its unreal. I've never ever witnessed a manager who has done so much for a club to be hated so much.

done so much? come on, i liked harry , was happy with him but lets be realistic, he inherited a decent squad , its not like he built from nothing, always said jol's first season was a bigger achievement.

and the reason why he is hated is down to him 100% he should be universally adored and if he had half a brain on him he would be, instead he has managed to alienate most of the fans, moronic but all down to him

I agree with this.

I suppose the positive we can take out of it is unlike Villa fans for example, we are still selling 95% of our tickets regardless of results!!!

I think the media is partly to blame. Many people read the shit on the news and in the papers and use this as reason to throw abuse at games! To many people don't have their own opinion.

I have to say though that Modric was looking over at the bench to be subbed for a long time in that game and i'm sorry there is no way in hell i will cheer or clap a player that so blatantly doesn't want to be playing for the team i love and support! I'm not saying giving a player stick or shouting abuse at him is right by any means but i can understand peoples frustration when he doesn't care......

At least there was hardly any booing at the end of the game. (Because all our loyal fans had gone by then!).

This is not what happened what happened was he indeed lost the ball once but won it right afterwards then the ball was passed to Defoe who forced a corner and from that corner we scored our only goal.

Livermore deserves all the credit he gets. The team looked much better with him on the pitch.

Yeh but that was probably the first tackle made by a white shirt in the game, no wonder he got a cheer for it!
