Was anyone else on here at the City Ground game years ago when David Howells scored a last minute winner with a header from a corner right in front of us?
I was there. 1990. It was my only full season watching Spurs live before heading back to New Zealand. Very special memory for me. He'd also scored the first goal in a 2-1 win.

Can we start on the front foot for once please?
Come on. Just once.
We cant keep taking 20 to 30mins to start playing.
20-30 mins would have been nice against Chelsea and Wolves. There was a point in the Wolves game about 40 minutes in when I would have been happy with a 3 pass sequence from our players, let alone a goal. The fact that neither game really saw a move of note from us until the second half was really worrying.

It is a massive issue, which we need to resolve sooner rather than later.

I’d like Conte to start rotating the squad for this game. We have got a lot of games coming up in a short period of time(7 in 21 days) so there is no reason not to start straight away. This doesn’t mean dropping players it means making full use of the squad at your disposal.
I’m not Pep’s biggest fan but I really like the way he constantly rotates his squad Because of that come the later stages of the season all his important players are not suffering fatigue. Klopp doesn’t rotate as much and Liverpool suffered for it in the final week of last season.
I’m pretty sure Conte won’t but I’d like to see Spence start. Playing against his old team from last year would give him that extra incentive to perform at his best. I also think he is potentially our best RWB.

Well no points dropped today...

No pressure tomorrow lol.

But we'll win. 3-0 Spurs.

Much easier to rotate when the players on your bench would start for most teams in the league. Completely agree that Conte needs to rotate more, but Pep's luxury to do this as much as he does just isn't something that other teams have.

This is the first season in a while though where it feels like that we're not massively lowering our quality if we pick players from outside the regular starting XI - with a couple of exceptions obviously. Expect we'll see a couple of fresh faces in the side tomorrow with West Ham coming in midweek

Looks like Perisic will be fit, so maybe the same team as Wolves to start the game.

I think id rather Perisic for Spammers as he certainly wont play the two games in three days. So I think Sess may play tomorrow.

Id love us to put in a convincing hammering tomorrow just because of todays results and prime time TV. I also want Kane hattrick to shut the Haaland suckers up..

Let's hope son has got his act together in training this week. Hope it was just a blip
Love Sonny to bits, but he has been performing below the standard that he has set (being diplomatic here) so imo Richarlison should start. We bought him for that very reason, to let Son fight for his place. No one should be unrotationable

I would start with Sonny, I think he will play better tomorrow, he is not great as a sub.
I think he is lacking a little in confidence and dropping him to the bench is not the answer imho.
If after 50 minutes, there is no improvement, then I would bring on Richarlison

That will be a problem judging by how we have started the three games... so hopefully we do start relatively fast and purposeful
The slow starts have been happening since 2018, with a few exceptions, so I wouldn't hold your breath!

I'm really not sure what the reason is. We just don't seem to get up for it until after half-time. My personal opinion is that the slow starts have coincided with us moving away from being a high pressing team. I think it causes the players to struggle in terms of their approach. The low block is sort of like a halfway house, you need to be aggressive to make things happen offensively but because you aren't pressing up the pitch you are essentially waiting for the opposition to attack the space you are occupying. It invites pressure and concedes too much territory. I'm not a fan.

We need to win tomorrow to stay with the early pace setters in the league. Any kind of win will do but a good win will send a message.
