The Manager who ALWAYS wins trophies say hello to The Club that NEVER wins trophies

The unstoppable force meets the immovable object. The SPURSY one v The SPECIAL one. I honestly dont know what will happen. Probably relegation and winning the Champions League.

Im all in for the carnage that is about to ensure. Fuck it, we never actually achieve anything anyway. Get the popcorn out.

Just means we're gonna win the Championship and the LDV vans trophy.

I would like it on record that I said Mourinho is a washed up punch drunk has been whos best years are well behind him and by appointing him its shows a complete lack of ambition on our part and to top it all off we will be the first club where he wont win a trophy.
It's the mother of all challenges if it is him.

Surely it’s got to be a manager without a job. I’m quiet excited by the news. The team and club were stale under Pochettino for 8 months now, it had to happen

Again... this situation must've been handled very quietly, as there was pretty much zero ITK. Kinda came outta the blue.

If we’ve sacked poch, regardless of what you think of ability, the only (available) upwards trade in terms of prestige is Jose.
Anyone else and this is a disaster, in many ways. It may still be with him, but the only way the club can claim to be “big” is to get another tier 1 manager.

Despite what folks might think of Maureen, there is one thing you can't dispute... If there is a manager available that would immediately command the respect of the playing squad, it's him. This matter a great deal when it comes to the likes of Kane, Sonny, etc.. As it tells them the club is committed to winning, and they've hired a coach that has a long track record of winning. Rather, if they had hired and up-and-coming manager, that would tell them they're in for a long re-build.

Also, the hiring of Maureen is fairly strategic, as it sort infers that Spurs considers itself a big enough club to hire one of the elite managers. You may hate the guy, but certainly can't say he isn't considered among the best out there. To me, that's undeniable. And to sponsors, players we are looking to sign, etc.... that's also undeniable. It says we are ready to win, now.
Wouldn't they also respect Allegri or Ancellotti for the same reasons? Only we'd all be spared the negative football.

There were numerous articles today? Waiting for ITK when it’s in the media seems a bit nuts. Shocked Herc didn’t have the exclusive, I’m sure he shared it in private though.

Always rated Rafa Benitez as a top manager and he would jump at the chance of coming imo

Certainly. Just using the point that a manager like Maureen represents the club's ambition. But you're correct that the hiring of Allegri or Ancellotti makes sense too for those reasons. However, the latter is a bit harder, as he isn't technically available right now... right?

The problem with Mourinho is that his style since leaving Inter has been to remove all risk taking and allow the top players to have a moment of genius that wins the game.

He doesn’t set up his teams to attack in any set style and is far too negative to suit our squad. We don’t have big stars who lift a game on their own. We play best as a squad who work together and link up with quick / sharp interplay.

The media were only saying that the job is under consideration. None seemed to suggest that his sacking was imminent within like the next 48 hours. That said, I agree that all of those articles coming out in a coordinated fashion was a bit strange.

Right... so hiring one of the most successful managers in the modern era, a guy who has won more in the last 20 years than our club has since 1882, shows a complete lack of ambition?

Its very tempting to be insulting but I won't, you've probably had a drink...I'll put your post down to that.
