I’m slightly confused, did he take 4 jobs starting on the same day and then a 5th job 4 months later? Some workload that.

I honestly don't get that. Poch refused to sign anyone for a season because Levy wouldn't buy him his targets and he didn't want the alternatives being offered. Not only that he was talking about a painful rebuild for ages and eventually burnt out because it never happened. If anything he would be an example of someone who wouldn't fit how the club operates. Im sure if he where to come back he would have a lot of stipulations. We can't expect him to come back and be the same man he was when we first signed him. He is a bigger name now who will have bigger demands.

Tbh if you want someone who is willing to accept whatever shit Levy throws at them then you will have to look at much less experienced managers, its no wonder names like Alonso are starting to appear as is talk of Mason potentially taking on the job permanently as i would be amazed if ether have any serious demands.

I know, I know, we hate these kind of accounts but this ITK guy is pretty solid. And this guy's previous jobs are pretty interesting... :pompous:

In all seriousness, anything that points to us appointing a Sporting Director is music to my ears.

Anyone actually know anything about this guy?

Looking at his transfer record when he was chief scout Hoffenheim signed Joelinton and Fabian Schar who have both done well at Newcastle, and at Leipzig they signed Keita, Werner, Upamecano and Gulaschi among others.

But this is exactly what caused the issues with Conte, isn't it? If Naglesmann has certain terms and conditions and the club are not on the same page then that should be the end of the matter.

I don't want Naglesmann if, in a few months time thing are going to turn sour again because there are disagreements and we go around the managerial merry-go-round. Again.

The head coach should fit the club, not the other way around.
Who’s this mythical figure that’s going to fit levy?

Trying not to get excited…

Surely if he gets the sporting director role then it looks good for Nagelsmann?

They seem like an ideal pairing.

It was slightly tongue-in-cheek, but when Poch arrived, the story was we were headed for a period of austerity, due to the stadium build, and thus Poch was required to operate on a shoe-string budget, and did so very well.

Now, I think Poch was expecting the purse strings to be loosened after several seasons of success in the league, and progressive success in CL - but, as we all know, that did not happen. Levy preferred, until it was too late, to continue to shop at the discount store, rather than spending the money required to upgrade the starting XI.

Would align with Levy attempting to find asymmetric advantages to complete against the mega clubs given Munn's background too.

Can only be a good thing, we need to get back to a solid structure and recruitment strategy. Hopefully this is the start.
