Having some Director of football ITK is exciting. Hopefully we are moving somewhere. Not sure if this means he is being negotiated with or he is the just the "preferiti" ?

It was slightly tongue-in-cheek, but when Poch arrived, the story was we were headed for a period of austerity, due to the stadium build, and thus Poch was required to operate on a shoe-string budget, and did so very well.

Now, I think Poch was expecting the purse strings to be loosened after several seasons of success in the league, and progressive success in CL - but, as we all know, that did not happen. Levy preferred, until it was too late, to continue to shop at the discount store, rather than spending the money required to upgrade the starting XI.
Yeah, thats exactly why I said "we can't expect him to be the same he was when he first signed". When he first came he was perfect for the role we/Levy needed as you say, but he grew, the club grew yet Levy's thinking didn't. As much as i hate the phrase, if Levy wants to run thing's his way then we need "the new Poch" because the old one wont work on those terms anymore.

Still for now im not going to stop believing Nagelsmann is anything other then the number one target until there is a concrete report saying talks have broken down. Considering Levy chased him twice before I think its just too obvious a step even if it takes a few rounds of discussions, Levy accepting certain stipulations and a new DoF to get it done.

Not too impressed he never really lasted more than 2,5 years since 13/14, but who knows. If he would lead to JN being our new coach I am on board.

Think this tweet explains why he was in all those roles at once

Spors is super exciting and fits exactly what we want from a DoF. He may not have worked directly with Nags, but he learned under Ragnick and shares their philosophies very closely. Makes Nagelsmann look extremely likely imo.

Here’s a cracking interview below from Spors while he was at Vitesse Arnhem talking about his philosophies. His view on football is exciting too, and gives more insight into a potential new manager.

“I made it clear, I am standing for a certain playing style,” says Spors. “It is intense. If you compare to the Premier League, more the Klopp direction than the Guardiola direction.”

Most importantly for a potential hire, we’ve heard a lot about Levy’s desire to go with a multi club model, and Spors and Munn as a duo are basically as close to the leading experts on working in that model as you can get. Could be a huge shift afoot in the club.

Recent interview with Spors. Talks about aggressiveness, intensity and mentality - and speed and directness (not possession for the sake of it). Very Klopp-esque vision for football. I guess this chimes with Nagelsmann?

I don't know anything about this man, but I love the Germans' vision of football, where intensity is preached above all else. I prefer intense and direct football, so these little interviews that some have posted are music to my ears. Lets hope this one is a gem

I'm on my work laptop, it blocks any twitter ;)
Ah, in that case, Midas (apparently well thought of) has linked us to a fella names Spors for the DoF role.
Sound like a good prospect for the job if true and while young, pretty experienced.
