The other obvious reason for not sacking Conte atm could be due to the takeover talks?

Pointless bringing in Poch if the new owners may want their own person .

The more I think about it the more I get excited about a Poch return.
Agree. But I feel it needs to be done soon. We have lost 9 of our last 18 games.
The rot has well and truly set in.
Make it happen now and let Poch evaluate the squad for the rest of the season, and try tomake something of it.
New manager bounce. The framework is there for him.
It will need some work next transfer window (GK, LCB, AMC) but it can work.
No point wasting time to save 6m quid.
The cost not to do it may be 15m!

Issue is that the full evaluation won't take place until our loanees return, and he'll be asked for those to be reintegrated too. And then we're back to square one with some absolute plodders for the first 6 months of the season filling holes in an already weak squad without their star striker to pick up the slack any more.

As much as i am behind Conte, if its nigh on certain he is leaving in the Summer then just pull the trigger now give the next guy (poor bastard) some time to evaluate etc

PSG is a shit show, doesn't matter who the manager is there the politics of the club will always destroy the manager.
You are 100% on the money here. Not going back to find it and can't remember where I posted it but I think before we appointed Conte and Poch was being heavily linked, I posted on here which was very solid info that PSG was a shitshow and that Poch was incredibly unhappy at the club due to how toxic it was. Would like to find the post but haven't got the time.

Begun to accept that Conte won't be our manager here next season and now all talk of being backed for the summer and specific targets like Bastoni seem moot right now.

What I am concerned about is how we navigate through the rest of this season with so much to play for.

Clearly a pivotal few weeks ahead with second leg of Milan and 5th round against Sheffield Utd. Lose both of them and undoubtedly the season is going to peter out and at that point I see little merit in persisting with Conte - for his sake as well as ours.

I remember this post very well. I also reckon that Conte's leaving is a good thing. He does not deserve such a suffering. I have no idea how a potential takeover may pan out, but I would not be surprised that during the next TW we will sign only Porro and Kulusevski. No planning, a new manager needs time to evaluate the players etc.

I actually disagree. I think Ndombele is gone, whether thats a loan or sale.
Lo Celso should be sold , or loaned again if needed.
Winks will realise there is too much talent ahead of him and seek anew club , or he will be pushed
Reggie is the only one that may be useful. Maybe at Ivans expense.

Honestly on about Antonio Conte, I don't believe it was a coincidence that the game was far different Vs Man City as it was to the one against Leicester. Really feels like while he was in Italy and while I know he will have input still his lack of presence around the squad seem to raise them a little in my opinion. First week back, first game back we get battered and he waits until the 74th minute to make an unforced substitution. Weirdly at this point he admits defeat and brings on Royal and Sanchez as part of the trio I think it was of subs. It was already to late for that but what was he watching for that 74 minutes? Why not bring on Richy? Danjuma? Royal can feel hard done by to be dropped after arguably he best 2 games at the club. Son has been pretty poor all season but it doesn't matter because Antonio Conte doesn't seem to want to drop him.

I can see what you mean but then that makes it interesting that Stellini was able to generate a big performance from the team in a big game. Is it that negativity from the manager is only limited to him and the players generally like the other coaches?

ITK has confirmed on more than one occasion that any new manager will more than likely be asked to reintegrate them. I admire your positivity though.

These things will all just cause rifts and splits in the dressing room, so you are right it'd be better to just call it a day and basically try and move on forward. However, one final thing is who do they want to appoint? If we know Antonio Conte is leaving, this means they knew and are likely look at potential targets.

I have seen and heard from multiple Journalists Mauricio Pochettino could be an option as Daniel Levy loves him and we know this it is public knowledge. So if it is him why not just bite the bullet and do it now? He won't cost a penny.

We wanted Marcelo Gallardo before and he is a free agent so maybe he could be an option? Again only have to sort Antonio Contes salary out and bring him in.

Maybe it could be another manager, someone employed and can't come until summer which could be true and could be one of the reasons for the club to wait also, players and team don't gain a lot from playing under Ryan Mason for the rest of the season so hold off and go from there eh?

I don't ultimately know but these all seem like reasonable points to me.
The first paragraph is bob on. Best team performance of the season? The one where Conte wasn't there. Coinkidink?

The deal breaker for me with Pochettino is thus: he won’t work with a DOF and that has to be the single most important role at the club.

Never go back.

I Agree. If he comes back that must change. Not letting academy players go out on loan was another strange decision.

Two most important questions here are..

1- do we see Conte turning it around this season? Were in terrible form and if as we all believe he is gone in a few months can we risk being passive. Before we know it we will be out of the top four race and both cups.

2- when is Paraticis appeal and can we see him being here post the appeal. That also has a huge impact on what is going to happen going forward.

We have Poch waiting , almost teasing Levy or maybe Chelsea with pics of London so I believe we have a replacement if we want but would Paratici want him, would a new DOF want him?

Would Poch be happy playing 3 at the back? Because from what I've seen of Porro he is no right back. Would he be happy working with a DOF? IF Paratici leaves after Conte and Poch comes in do we get someone who thinks along similar lines to Poch rather than rip everything up again.

I don't think we're that far off personnel wise. Add in a good centre half, actually two centre halves and a keeper and that gives a new coach more than enough to be comfortably in the conversation up the top of the table.

This could be a huge mess which is why I want the club to get ahead of it and make decisions sooner, much sooner rather than later.
