From his perspective this is why I think I’d sign now but not start until the summer. If he starts now and the football is bad (even if it’s due to roster limitations) you can’t get that first impression back.
The first few months under Poch were utter pants.

Yep. He's made a very good living from making a story from no news.
Although lots of articles are just a rehash to collect clicks etc, he is obviously super well connected and is either breaking lots of stuff or knows what journalist is on the money, he rarely shares sth completely made up.

Ally Golds latest video offers very little insight.

essentially he is surprised we haven’t heard anything RE Conte. (Speculated about the clubs option for an automatic contract extension might be tricky from a legal standpoint RE compensation)

Paratici like Enrique and Galtier

Spurs would certainly be interested in Nagelsmann. Again, speculation whether Nagelsmann is a free man or on gardening leave.
Nagelsmann has fond memories of peak Poch Spurs, Spurs have ‘kept tabs’ on Julian.

Poch:- he thinks, if it was gonna be Poch, it would have been sorted by now, there is still resistance from some at Spurs and it certainly wouldn’t be a Paratici signing. Chuck in the rumoured contact with Tuchel, and it looks like a no go.

Sooo, no news.

The only interesting thing I took from it was, apparently Nuno wanted Mason on the coaching staff, Mason chose to stick with the academy.
Conte also wanted him and on this occasion Mason obliged.
I only mention that because, having listened to the high performance? Podcast with Mason recently, he Indicated he wasn’t in a position to take on a management role just yet, baby due, still lots to learn etc.
Now I’m 99% convinced, if he was asked to do a job for the remainder of the season, he would say yes, but, you never know right?

anyway, sorry for the long post about nothing.

The delay and lack of real movement on our end makes me think there is two tiers to this situation. The initial reports strongly suggested Conte would be gone within days of the Southampton game. A week has passed and he is still the manager and even as of now the reports today are we are still in the discussion stage of removing him.

It is a guarantee we will have a new manager for next season. The problem I believe the board is having (and this is just an inference) is there is one tier of manager for whom they would be interested in the job but don't want to commit to accepting an offer until the season is over. Because that way if we fail to make top four they can look at other options. Who knows if there will be a vacancy at Liverpool or Chelsea who even if they don't make top four will just splash the cash. Whereas for us it probably means Kane will want to leave. Then there's the question of Real Madrid and possibly PSG having vacancies. If we fail to make top four the job is a lot less attractive since it's not like we push the boat out to improve even when we're in the Champions League. It sounds like Tuchel was willing to discuss a project with us but as soon as Bayern rang him off he went to sign a contract. We're just not on that level. Nagelsmann may be the same. Enrique possibly too. This tier is the best managers we could get.

That means there is a second tier of manager who would be willing to take over now but who the board are split. I think Poch falls into this category. I think if he was given it he would accept it right away. I am sure the fans would welcome him back. But if they agreed on it then this deal would have been done already. This category is not of the best managers we could get but the best we can get *right now*. It's the compromise option. The guys who see Spurs as a step forward in their careers or unfinished work for Poch.

No one has any real insight because no one is privy to what is going on right now.

It will be quite interesting to see who gets all our transfer rumours if Paratici leaves too. Presumably the Italian media won't be breaking things first anymore.

Paratici is a managerial terrorist. Need to sack this guy or hope he gets locked up. Gattuso, Nuno, Galtier. He doesn’t have a fucking clue.

He’s seemingly really good at everything else though, so would prefer not to sack him. Agreed he’s utter guff at appointing managers though.

What if Mason gets given the job until the summer and he gets top 4 ( or higher ). Wouldn’t he be in for a shout for the job long term? I’m not saying this is what I want, I’m just throwing it out there.

No No No.

Man Utd made the same mistake with OGS.

Not for me, unless he wins all 10 and concede 0 goals.
Feel like Mason is too big of a gamble at the stage we’re at right now.

Can't see why if it's a club option to take the extra year with Conte that would affect compensation to him

He didn't mention Galtier did he? He said Paratici likes/liked Tuchel, Enrique, Conceicao. You'd hope that those were options prior to Nagelsmann becoming available (they must be as Tuchel has now replaced him).

I honestly don’t give a flying duck who is our next manager as long as the team plays attractive football that is competitive and the club (and fans) work as a unit, together. But of course that will never happen.

Apologies you’re correct. It was Conceicao
