Not the worst outcome. We get an experienced coach who knows the players and seems to be fairly popular with them. Won't be a radical shift in tactics you'd imagine. Maybe he fancies stepping out of Conte's shadow.

Plus Conte won't be doing anything in the next couple of months so he can always rejoin him for next season if that's what he wishes. Doubt Conte will begrudge him this chance.

That’s not what I’m saying. I mean it’s important we have them signed and agreed to join us ASAP. I know it’ll be Stellini and Mason until the end of the season but that’s not to say we won’t appoint someone before then.
