That's that then.
Yes indeed - If Levy would be honest during the meeting, he'd tell Nagelsmann all about how he and his chum Joe Lewis turned a 22m investment into a 3-4 billion property empire over the back of Tottenham Hotspur FC and its fans and how the pair of them are laughing all the way to the bank.

But he'll lie through his teeth and spin a yarn about wanting to win things but really believing in Financial Fair Play and how others are ruining the game and rotten luck and so on... And if he does a good enough job lying he'll have snared another victim for the managerial Elephant Graveyard that is our club...

From his perspective this is why I think I’d sign now but not start until the summer. If he starts now and the football is bad (even if it’s due to roster limitations) you can’t get that first impression back.

That is something key to consider. Also, it must be mentally quite taxing to be sacked by the biggest club in your own country. I might be wrong but I think he's from Munich or has some connection to them, so it will be a tough moment and not one he may want to immediately jump into an incredibly risky job at spurs.

Fully agreed on the off topic rating @canadacelt imagine me discussing our next potential manager in this thread. 😂

The club might give him patience but will the fans? With Nagelsmann, I feel like the expectation level would be just as high as it was with Conte
Maybe but as long as the football was entertaining and we could see improvement I think most would be patient.
Watching stinkball and still losing is not acceptable.

Did JN ring him up and tell him this? I fail to see how he, seemingly, has more insight into what JN is thinking than anyone else. Just click bait?
Agree. He hasnt really said anything. JN is hardly gonna say I'm not looking for a project or a good relationship with the board is he lol.

He was the first to break any word of his sacking, so he would have some knowledge.

It's just so pointless to go after yet another "top coach" if you don't change your transfer philosophy with it. Giving them about half the number of players they actually want with some promising youth and the odd lastminutedotcom punt thrown in is a waste of time.

Better going for one of those names linked earlier this week like De Zerbi or Postecoglou if you're going to stick to your old ways.

Whether it's a case of we can't quite financially do it or simply won't is IMO moot, it's still another waste of 18-24 months for everyone.

Whilst it is probably just click bait, JN will have informed his agent of his plans (if he has even made any yet), so Romano could have heard from his agent.

While I’d prefer we got JN, I’m no longer bothered about the “elite” managers after what we’ve seen with Conte. I was stupidly excited when he arrived, and I’ve ended up as apathetic towards the team as I was when we were drawing 0-0 every week under George Graham. I just want to enjoy watching Spurs again please!

There is a lot of 2 + 2 = 5 here from journalists and from the fan base.

There has been so little actual info come out since last Saturday. Everyone is speculating/guessing.

We’ve talked ourselves in and out of about 5 Managers

Like many, I would love for us to get Nagelsmann but it would be foolish of him not to wait until the summer where there could be quite a few "top jobs" available e.g. Madrid, PSG, Inter, AC Milan and perhaps Chelsea. There's no need for him to jump directly out of the frying pan and into the fire.
I’d be amazed if he joined Serie A. Those teams have serious financial restraints and the Premier League is a far bigger draw. Don’t see PSG holding any real pull either given he’s just been forced out of Bayern due to player power

Don’t get why people are freaking out about that Romano thing he said he will “take his time” and then followed up with “if it will be now, if it will be the end of the season, we will see”.

Basically he said nothing other than JN is waiting for what he feels is the right situation…which…duh.
It’s so out of character for him to state the obvious and package it up as an exclusive scoop….

Odds on his rewords it and announces it as an exclusive again at least three times in the next 12 hours.

Not sure why anyone would think Nagelsman wanting a project rules us out, the giants don't do projects and other projects are not at the stage we're at save one, Newcastle.
How likely are Newcastle to dump Eddie Howe at the end of the season after, possibly, taking them to the Champions league? Highly unlikely but for someone of Nagelsman's kudos it's possible but I don't see another.

Typical example of Romano saying stuff that doesn't really mean anything, when there's nothing actually new to report about.
