I worry about the lack of leadership now.

time for someone to step out of Kane’s shadow
I wouldn't say Kane and Lloris were natural leaders. They are strong characters and there's a lot to admire about them as professionals but leadership is about more than that. Always thought Jordan Henderson was good for Klopp, like having a mini manager on the pitch

It's gonna be Dier.

Posted yesterday a story of him playing from Tuesday night with the armband on.

And then this this morning apparently...

Madders. And I love Sonny to bits, but I think Maddison is the future leader we need.

I think it will be Son. I would prefer the likes of Maddison or Bissouma to help start this new Ange era, but I think when Kane's departure is official the next in line is Son.

You’re right. But it would be the wrong decision.

I think Son is well liked - but I don't know if he is the motivating type.

I also wonder if we will see someone like Dier as club captain - despite no place in the XI.

Dier would not be my choice, but I think its worth remembering that the bulk of "work" that the captain does is during the week, in training and team meetings - setting the tone, and keeping the lads focused. Being on the pitch for those 90 minutes is actually a pretty small part of the role. So, I would not be shocked, nor disappointed, if Ange went in a slightly different direction.

Bissouma remains my choice, but I trust Ange to get it sorted.

Bissouma or Romero captain, maybe even Skippy vice.

I personally like the idea of having a proper horrible **** as a captain in Romero, no one will fuck with him and he won’t be afraid of digging people out.

Son is the obvious choice and the wrong choice.

31, Saudi Arabia keeping tabs on him and add in the fact he’ll have 12 months left on his contract next summer. Nobody likes to hear it but that will be the last chance we get to profit on him especially as he’s evidently declining in ability now. Giving him the armband now would lead us to this exact problem next year too and doesn’t really indicate a long term plan.

As others have said, giving it to Romero makes sense. It would mature him and the added responsibility would bring him back to his best, I think. He’s a passionate guy and being the captain would unlock that same level of passion he has for Argentina, imo.

Bissouma and Bentancur are also good shouts.

He posted this months ago. Better off deleting this post it was a guy on Twitter taking the piss. It’ll just wind people up for no reason. All you’ve got to do is check his Instagram yourself…

Dier would be a huge PR fail. Huge. I don’t think the stick he gets from the fan base is deserved but there would be a massive backlash to that.

I don’t think Bissouma, Son or Romero have the temperament to be captain either. They are all capable of petulant moments.

There’s no obvious choice. I think Maddison probably gets it by default.

It would be funny on here if it was Dier though🤣🤣🤣

I think Ange will be aware that the fans need to unite behind the new captain and it will have to be someone playing regularly which rules Dier out imo. Although I imagine he’ll remain in the leadership group and be a vice-captain. Son or Bissouma for me. Maddison as an outside shot as well.
