We know our own country is not squeaky clean but if the powers that be allow this takeover then they have no integrity whatever and are prepared to overlook any misdemeanours whatever as long as it brings money into the game . WE look to these people to be the honest rulers of the game but this take over is a step too far and will just rubber stamp what we all think of our football rulers .
Money is 1st 2nd 3rd everything else its of no real importance .
You just know these people that want to take over Newcastle will do everything in their power to get round FFP rules which at this moment is a joke . The Arab oil money is taking over the game we all love one concellation I am 76 years old and in all probability not be around to see the game ground down so that only 2 or 3 clubs can win anything .
By the way am I alone in thinking Guardiola has turned out to be very shallow and deluded he does not seem to get that if you spend over two and a half billion pounds more than other clubs you are going to have the best team the blokes a joke . .

its not just the FA it’s the managers and players as well.

pep wore his the symbol in support of the oppression of the people of Catalonia.

same goes for Sterling does great work for kick it out but is happy to take a wage from people with a dubious human rights record

it will be the same at Newcastle, I will have the utmost respect for a manager or player to come out and say this is not right

if we want equality it has to be across the board.

having said all that will probably turn out myVolkswagen is part owned by Saudi sovereign fund or something

Update:

So if the PL approve the take over, it basically fails to honour broadcasting agreements it previously made.

Er, okay...

Good. It’s shameful that it‘s taken so long for the PL to put the brakes on this. However, it’s still not been rejected by them.
I’m surprised that Ashley doesn’t just sell to the American guy.

Looks like the takeover in trouble

Seems like something that could be sorted out.

However, the PL should stop this deal because of the broadcasting piracy issues in Saudi Arabia. If they turn a blind eye to them, they're storing up trouble for themselves in the future.

It potentially even sets a legal precedent; isn't a party supposed to challenge copyright/intellectual property violations as soon as they become aware of them? Otherwise an IP goes down the road of becoming open source?

Anyway, whatever the truth of the matter is, the PL shouldn't sign a deal with Qatar and then renege on it because Saudi flashes the cash.

I can’t believe that they haven’t managed to get something so fundamental sorted.

Human rights issues and the Koshiggi affair plus the TV rights issue should be enough for anybody with morals or character to not allow this takeover to go ahead but you know I know and everybody else knows that this takeover will eventually be allowed. Money talks when football is involved and wrongdoings can (turn a blind eye ) to anything as long as large amounts of money change hands and myself as with FIFA and UEFA dealings in recent years would like to see the bank accounts of the people that approve this takeover .
You all remember the names of the schisters that took backhanders when World Cups were handed out and the hand that Platini played in it as EUFA delegate .

I have just been reminded that its not long ago that this same football governors gave the OK for Portsmouth to be taken over by
Ali Al Faraq a man that did not exist . Hands up anybody who thinks these same people are the right people to be making decisions on
" right and proper persons "

Let's not even mention Munto Finance and Notts County.

The EFL’s ownership vetting committee needs to be disbanded and investigated for massive amounts of corruption and fraud. And if Newcastles sale goes through, so does the Prem’s. The Saudi family have no right to own a team. Let alone MBS, who belongs in prison for ordering a hit on foreign soil.

They certainly need to rip up the FAPP test and start anew.

But in the Wigan situation it appears both the selling and (if he exists) the buying owner has duped everyone. It's hard to stop owners who consciously decide to act irrationally and not play by the rules if they appear legitimate.

There's nothing stopping any owner of any club from doing the same, from pulling all funding and placing their club in administration at a day's notice, but I don't think anyone's ever even considered that someone might actually do it before it happened to Wigan.
