Yeah don't think this is going to happen but we still had a great window regardless and this would've just been the icing on the cake

Does the series a transfer window close Monday or can they still do domestic deals? I thought their replacement was the fiorentina cb. I still have hope

There is no extended domestic window in Italy, so Inter would need to have their replacement in within the next 37 hours (the Serie A window shuts at 7pm UK time tomorrow).

They have Milenkovic lined up and there were reports that Fiorentina had his replacement sorted too. I think this will come down to the fee and which club will blink first, which probably means that it’s our price or nothing, which probably means that it’s nothing. But the player is open to the move by all accounts and Conte was begging for a bid in the press the other day, so it seems like it will come down to the fee and not replacements. I still have hope for some reason. Guess I’m waiting for ITK and the club mouthpieces to kill it for good.

I do find it odd that we're not prepared to spend 40m on a high calibre CB that Jose craves for. But we'd pay 32m plus some add ons.

We've spent similar on players that are more potential rather than current ability.

And we've just spent (possibly) 40m on a striker who will start lots of games on the bench.

You dont get a pop at a player like Skriniar often. ..

We might be prepared to spend £40m. We don't know. All we know is that we're not prepared to pay Inter's current asking price.

Loks like this one is done then, shame as I thought a cb and with some luck we could perhaps challenge - still think we will but think a decent cb gets us top 4! Fantastic window though!

Not a dig, but I feel our current options at centre back are either being massively underrated on this site or other clubs options are being overrated.

I swear this deal gets more expensive every time I see it reported? €50m plus add ons now?

Probably guesswork on the fee. When Eriksen went all kind of figures were bandied about then when it was said how much it actually was it was higher than suspected. I wonder if that has had an effect on things. Eriksen has hardly paid back his fee, maybe they feel a bit cheated on that one?

I swear Levy has a formula for working out the players’ value and he uses that argument when negotiating. An unsuspecting chairman will go in, unprepared with just a figure in their heads without any real science behind it and bam!

Agreed. I think if you had the dildo brothers going in (boom boom) I suspect they would just roll a dice with random figures on it for their negotiation....

The fact that it has been leaked to the press that Inter don’t want to wait until late in the window to seek or do business tells us it is far from dead.
If anytbign it is a call to us to get our asses in gear.
look I am not sure this is going to happen but there are positives - Mr Hitchen was our tjere so tjere are probably significant Aspects of the deal Thatwe know about including the personal terms etc. So no need for any in person meetings. I guess over the next 6-12 hours today a fee has to become crystallised and agreed for this to get over the line tomorrow.

Unless Inter are able to bring in that Milenkovic from Fiorentina last minute, if we don't hear about any progress this evening, don't think this will happen.
