Fucking hell, people again taking shots at Sports Witness who do nothing but translate articles and make them easy to understand. If you're going to comment on stuff you haven't read, at least make it convincing.

Whilst I agree with that, had they have posted a positive piece then the response would have been much different.
I had not realised, i only noticed the vast amount of derision it received. I bow to your supreme knowledge of the toilet publications and will revere you forever more. Happy?

This is really important to you isn’t it? Fess up, you are the sports witness aren’t you ?

Jesus people get so heated about a simple jokes about the credibility of a publication, which as it happens the poster who I aimed it at initially, @George94 , rated funny.

These websites and twitter pages only get hits if a deal has twists and turns, nobody is going to click if the articles say it's going smoothly.
Add to that it's the final week. The more complicated the better for these sites. I wouldn't take any notice. Sky tend to say a deal is off and on multiple times on deadline day especially.

Yeah tbh I tend to only listen to Alasdair Gold, Dan KP and the ITK though I have to take that with a pinch of salt when we get to this point. I don't trust any of the Italian reporting.

Ultimately it’s so immaterial whether we make this signing today, tomorrow or on Monday that it’s really not worth getting too invested about any reports, positive or negative, as we don’t have long to go until we know either way anyway and any new signing won’t be playing this weekend regardless.

I think the reality is, our transfer business will lost vastly different depending on how Thursday goes. It is not a given that we win and our business is acting with that mentality.

#thfc are now increasingly unlikely to sign Milan Škriniar. The club only want to pay €30M plus bonuses whilst Inter Milan continue to demand €50M for his sale. [Gazzetta dello Sport]

exactly this, especially with sky as we get closer to the deadline, theyre looking to create a narrative to drive engagement rather than reporting on the actual facts

You’re right, of course - but we will all stubbornly sit on this emotional rollercoaster in the name of masochistic delight until it grinds to a halt on Monday night.

I imagine it has some bearing, but then if we somehow contrived to lose I’d still be disappointed if we did not at least reinforce to front.

Skriniar to me falls into the category of would be awesome if we pulled out off, but I don’t actually think our squad is desperate for it.

Yeah I mean my personal opinion is that the reason we get so hooked into things is because we humans crave the storytelling aspect of it and the journalistic (if you can call it that) approach to these transfers really caters towards that. They don't make money giving us the information, they make money with the narrative as you rightly said and they really feed off of our anxiety the closer the deadline day gets.

Getting to the point where I feel Its not going to happen is it. As disappointing as that will be and easy as it will be to blame Daniel Levy for this transfer not happening to be fair if Inter have a price tag for him of £45 million + and they are refusing to budge on it then given the current financial climate cant really blame Daniel from walking away from this deal. Getting to a point as well where a striker and shifting some players is more important than a new centre back. As much as I was crying out for a centre back the other week the truth is we do have four centre backs who on paper would walk into most Premier league teams starting line ups.

Oh of course. I fully intend to called Levy an unambiguous bald goblin at least five times between now and tomorrow morning should we not at the minimum announce one signing today ?
