This was my first ever Spurs game I went to, I was ten. Despite it being in the middle of October, I remember it being a bloody hot day.

You're lucky. My wedding was at 3pm on 16th May 1987 - and I was a season ticket holder. Always blamed myself; we would've won if I'd been there.

I honestly believe that day and also 1st June 2019 were the worst days of my football life.

March 25th 1978, sneaked to car at 4.40 to find we'd drawn 3-3.

Not my first game at WHL - that was 5-0 against QPR in 83 - but the one from that era that sticks in my head. Went home broken hearted.

I was in the Park Lane seats that night, it was a rearranged game from Jan when the snow was on the ground.
Title hopes fluttered away, ended up 3rd. (as per)

I was on the Shelf. Absolutely heaving. I remember Linda Lusardi throwing bags of nuts to the crowd before a game around that time. Might have been this one.

Felt like I had been disembowelled.

My neighbour had a huge branch of an oak tree growing over our garden and he took it down but the rope broke - smack into my shed. I was repairing it that day listening on the radio. It was almost fixed when they scored and I just smashed the whole fvcker up.

There was a TV football blackout for a fair chunk of the 1985/6 season between BBC/ITV and the Football League
MOTD and The Big Match were off air - the cause was money, sounds familiar !

Marvelous. Hoddle, Ardiles and Waddle in the same midfield plus an appearance (and goal) from Mickey Hazard.

Also Mark Falco, a much-maligned forward who was much better than most gave him credit for. I fondly remember him scoring a waist-high volley from the edge of the box when we beat the goons 5-0 at the Lane. (Bought it from the club on video - cost me about 25 quid; probably equivalent to around 100 in today's money.)

The 1978 World Cup saw some fantastic goals. If my memory serves me correctly, the games were live on the BBC but the kick off times were late into the night, gone midnight for some of them........that hasn't happened much since, maybe Korea

Plus those of us who remember, there were some great players involved. Bettega, Rumminigge, Rep etc

It's a two part clip, the second follows on automatically.

Look out for Arie Haan's long range goal and Cubillas scoring a couple of that effectively knocked Scotland out, "Ally's Army" really thought they would win it too :D

Not a specific memory, but I remember the FA Cup third round when I was a kid, and my dad would let me stay up late to watch MotD.

The year of the "ticker tape" reception which would unbeknown to us be appearing at WHL a few months later.

Some great goals there @Archibald&Crooks , enjoyed those memories.

great memories I too was at the 5-0 game and also bought the video
A few of us bought a share and can’t remember who ended up with it
Falco’s goal would be goal of the season most years
Cheers
