van der Vaart is one of the slowest players there is - most players would beat him in that situation.

For someone so "slow", he makes up a hell of a lot of ground in a hurry. For his second goal against Villa, he made up about 60m in a straight footrace to finish the move he started with his flick to Bale.

Stalteri did the same in that memorable win vs West Ham, i.e. sprinting from one end to other and being the furthest player of them all and getting and getting that rebound of the goalie despite of being easily the slowest player on the field.
No one need to believe - I don't mind if some of you guys want to believe that v.d. Vaart is a speedy player :wink:

Unfortunately this signing has an much chance of progressing as Messi signing for us. We had to take the gamble after his first 6 months at Bayern or when he was still at Stuttgart... too expensive for Levy now.
