Not a good source but...

Tottenham are lining up a move for out-of-favour Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez.
Gomez, 27, has proven himself as a prolific striker in German football, having bagged 159 goals in 279 games during spells at Stuttgart and Bayern.
But despite being part of the side that won a historic treble last season, Bayern have told him to find him a new club, with his agent revealing Gomez is looking for a switch away.
‘As far as I’m concerned, Mario will definitely get a transfer this summer,’ said agent Uli Ferber.
‘He will be leaving Bayern Munich.’
Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen have both expressed an interest in Gomez, but is now understood that Tottenham have emerged as the front runners.
Andre Villas-Boas is desperate to land a proven finisher, and with talks failing to move forward with Internacional over Leandro Damiao, Gomez has emerged as a key target.
Spurs would be willing to offer around £7million for the striker, and would be happy to offer him around £70,000-a-week in wages.
Gomez is expected to meet with Tottenham officials in German next week to discuss his future.

If it`s true i would be very happy. To have him here for a 7M and then try to have villa and a worldclass playmarker.

No way in Hell do I see Bayern accepting 7m for him. Also, he would surely want more than 70k/week to come here if we can't offer Champions League.

I seriously doubt he'd be that cheap or that we'd be the highest profile club after him, but it's a no brained if doable. Even in a poor season last season he scored 11 in 21 league games while being used sparingly, and 19 in 32 in a comps. I'd love this to be true.

I'm still angry at him from the Champions League final. It also seemed he couldn't hit a barn door against Madrid in the semis that year o_O (prolific, and undoubtedly great striker that he is)

How safe is it to start up a topic if there's not actually a rumour about a player? Talk is gathering pace that Mourinho has told Boris the dirty Russian that he wants Hulk, Cavani & Jovetic to form a dream front 3, and wants Torres & Mata  out. Apparently it's circulating in Italy that Mata likes AVB, so maybe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is blatantly how he signs his players!

Read they want 35m for mata so that would be us out.

Also Gomez for 7m is classic-if that happens that would be Levys best ever- 27 year old top grade striker with 3 years on his contract. Definitely not getting hopes up on this one

Not a good fit for us if we are looking for someone to link play.

If we are looking for a finisher who makes good runs and pulls defenders then he's very good at that.

The Spanish press is full of stories that Real M. want Mata back (he did play for them in the "distant" past)... which could mean they'll not sign Bale - at least not this season.
Even though Chelski do indeed intend to sell Lukaku (if Cavani and Hulk arrives I doubt he'll want to stay but of course Chelski can loan him out yet again) and Mata, I doubt they'll sell to a competitor like Spurs - nor that Spurs could afford them. Too many clubs now who're happy to throw silly money at players.

Gomez - not sure. The goons wanted him and if he is that price then I reckon they would still want tbh. Would he do a job for us - for sure imo.

Mata out - no chance I reckon, but if true how much? I did post in here the stories about Maureen and her love of 'athelitic' teams but was shot down with reposts about ratboy as a counter arguement. Maybe it will come to pass? Can't see the Ruski allowing it or even their scummy fans though.

So Gomez and Mata then. Yes please. (y)

Another Giroud
if only Adebayor was another Giroud we may be playing Champions League football next season.

Also lets please have a bit of realism....
1. Mata is Chavs best player why would they sell him?
2. He would cost too much.
3. After we never sold them Modric why would they want to ever do business with us? i am happy either way in all honesty don't want to ever do business with them.
4. He will want Champions League football.

Pisses all over Giroud. He's a goal scorer and a bloody good one at that.

No-way in hell. The fee? The wages? Won't happen.

This. Would have him any day of the week. He's been immense for Munich and even though Mandzukic is the preferred striker now he still gets the job done whenever given the chance. He's quality, and a winner.

As you say though, fee + wages = not a chance.
