I think it's more the case of having 3 non-HG keepers than just having 2.

Because in that case City have Scott Carson, Liverpool have Lonergan, Chelsea have Cumming, and United have Grant.

So, yeah, they've all gone with the approach that having 2 keepers (of any HG status) and then a third that is HG.

Which is understandable. We already had registration issues this year in the CL because of having too many non-HG players so it's pretty understandable why using 3 slots on keepers is less than ideal.

Sure, but people should complain about us pointlessly bringing back Vorm then. He's been an ornament. It makes it stranger that it's about PG.

If we sign Bettinelli it should be as 3rd choice keeper. If we signed him to replace Gazzaniga we would still need to buy a 3rd keeper as Austin and Whiteman need to be loaned out to gain experience.
