To be fair, if Palace don't want to sell they're perfectly right to slap ridiculous price tags on their players.
This just means poaching clubs are kept at arms length and if someone does choose to meet the valuation they will receive double/treble/x4/5 the actual value of the player and can laugh all the way to the bank.
Teams will pay as Pool did with VVD and Alison. I don't think that will be our remit though.
Alienating AWB and Zaha is unlikely when they have signed long contracts, as they can't kick up a fuss in the reserves for four season. Even handing in a transfer request won't do them any favours.

In its very simplistic form, it's like buying Mayfair in Monopoly for £400. Your buddy then picks up Park Lane.
What does the value of Mayfair become to the game then?
You're not going to sell for actual value anymore. It's worth whatever someone will pay.
If you don't want to sell you can say it's priceless, end of.
Or you hang it out there for £1000 with a set completer in return.

If they pay all good. If not you still have your prize asset.

Furthermore, AWB is still plenty young enough, that a few years at Palace playing regular football will only help his development. And if he has ambitions to move to a better team, he just has to explain to Palace, that he will give his all to Palace whilst under contract, but won't be signing any extensions, so it would be in Palace's interest to cash in.
I agree that we do not have the devine right to just sign anyone that plays for a team outside the top 6

He's worth 60 or so million, we could have him as RB for the next 10 years. Not sure who we could get that would be any better especially when you factor in age and HG status.

Makes sense.

I'll say it here and now - this lad will end up playing further forward and will be worth silly money in a year or two (as opposed to his club asking for silly money now)
Dribbling ability is one thing and end product is another. He's far too good defensively -- the best right back in the league in that aspect of his game IMO -- to be moved up. There's no shortage of tricky wingers who can beat a man but don't chip in massively with goals and assists, whereas there very much is a shortage of right backs who completely dominate their flank.

They seem to want more. And it is easy to spend 60m on in some ways a rookie (though not quite). I can’t see anyone paying either 60m or what they want. There is better deals out there.

Stop it. The impending disappointment is killing me

I wonder how much Norwich want for Aarons? If Palace want £70m plus for W-B then we should be telling them where to stick it. I’d much rather turf Aurier and Trippier out on their arses and bring in both Atal or Semedo and Aarons for less/circa the W-B fee.

Make CP a 50mil offer, put 100,000/week in front of AWB and see how serious they both are about not moving.

He's a fullback, to me this is different than Zaha and if I were in CP's place I would understand it. 50mil to reinvest back in the team could be very impactful for them. He's a fullback, the difference for them between Nathaniel Clyne & AWB isn't as important as the difference between Zaha and whoever else they could get. Zaha carries them, AWB is really good but fullback is very low on the totem pole for a second half table club.

That would give the club something to tell the fans too. "An offer too good to turn down."

They're a relegation candidate without Zaha, without AWB I don't think much changes with their spot in the table. If they invested the money wisely they could improve.

Palace would only consider an absolute crazy offer for AWB. Trust me when I say what they want is ridiculous.

He'll have to kick up a fuss then.

They can ask what they want and the buying club will only pay what they want to pay.

His market value would be around the 50m mark no?

Other clubs abroad such as the German league also accept offers from bigger clubs in their league for their players.

Over here they seem to have to piss about all the time and dick wave...

Maybe throw in KWP and say 40m so not only do they get a replacement RB ( although not as good ) they could reinvest the money in the rest of their squad.

Did you say sess was worth £50m last season?
