I'd be surprised if we went anywhere near him at over 50mil. The premier league English market is not worth it at all. I quite like the club is seemingly looking deeper down the leagues for the English talent, even if Grealish, Sessegnon, Clarke, Aarons, Bowen haven't come to fruition yet.

We spent £40m plus on Sanchez. Wan Bissaka is premier league proven and just as big a talent. If we justified that for Sanchez two years ago, I’m sure we could justify £50m on wan bissaka if we think he is the best player for the job.

50mil is a fee plucked out the air by someone, which sounds like wouldn't be enough.

Less than a year ago tripier made the world cup team of the tournament.

Wba might be the next big thing, i dunno. But every year we as fans get excited over the next big thing. Berahino, sessengon, edwards...

I'll leave it to the boys in charge. But i will say that we wont spend £50m on him.

Maybe if we weren’t looking to overhaul other areas but I’d be surprised if we bought N’dombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, and AWB, even with Eriksen going. That’s likely about 180+ million and I can’t see Eriksen going for more than 60-65 million, given he’s in the last year of his contract

I'd suggest 80m minimum for Eriksen....

Trouble is Herc has been on to say he’s ridiculously priced well over £60m :-/

We could definitely acquire most of the funds for AWB by selling Trips and Serge but whilst the former has his suitors I’m not sure that the latter has any. In this scenario, we’d also be relying massively upon KWP as a back up and as much as I like the concept of homegrown youth making it with us I’m not gonna let romanticism get in the way of progression because I’m still not convinced by Kyle - see Onomah. That being said we absolutely need to address our gaping holes and RB and CM are the obvious weaknesses in our squad. If by all accounts we’re going full out to genuinely compete next season I’m not sure CP holding out for an exorbitant amount is something we weren’t prepared for. Just because we’ve finally loosened the purse strings doesn’t mean others will start to be lenient - this has to have been considered otherwise we aren’t doing our due diligence.
Foyth looked promising at RB and in my opinion Sissoko has always acquitted himself well on the handful of occasions he's slotted in there at the end of matches when Poch has taken the RB off for an attacking substitute. With the CM depth issue looking very likely to be solved this window, we'd have the latitude to play Sissoko at fullback if it came to it.

Selling both Trippier and Aurier and replacing them with one signing would be a massive show of faith in KWP that wouldn't go unnoticed by the rest of the academy boys, and if he doesn't take his chance as second choice then we'd have two very decent third- and fourth-choice options to slot in.

Aren't we supposed to be interested in Sess 2 ?

Has anyone seen much of him as we only get all the hype on Sess 1

And such is the issue with not buy anyone for 18 months. Too many holes to fill that we won't be able to get to all of them.

RB, Backup Striker/wide forward, DM, CM are all needs right now. Throw in Sessegnon, an Eriksen replacement and a Toby replacement and it just won't all get taken care of.

Well we could sign 3 Serge Auriers I suppose

This.

I bet my house on us going after Thomas meunier at psg, has one year left on his contract, plays for psg and Belgian.

Also doesn't play to regularly, probably because of alves.

I don't know if he is good enough , but knowing our transfer system, this will be our first choice.

Well that's /thread then. Cheers Herc and ValcenciaYId.

If there's any chance i would like us to make 1 bid and move on quickly.

RB/CM is our weakest position by far, and we need to add quaility to that position this summer.

We can't have another season with Trippier, he didn't exactly fil the gap after Walker left.

Aarons would be a good backup option. Very rare you see a promoted team sell their best players though

Yeah doubt Norwich will sell. If we are going to ship out KT and SA and look for a back up as well as a starter, we could do a lot worse than Jayden Bogle:

Or just have our own academy product as a back-up?

Decent player and a great athlete hugely impressed with him in the games I have seen. A full back that can defend! Attack and cross a ball . Can’t see derby keeping hold of him

Haven't seen much of Bogle this season but he was bodied by Anwar El Ghazi for Villa's first goal in the Playoff Final. Horrendous defending from him.

He did have a great cushioned header that set up Derby's goal, however.

Kid certainly has a lot of experience and talent for an 18 year old, but I'm hoping we go for a ready made first choice RB if we offload Tripps and Aurier since we already have KWP as a backup.
