Just imagine what Ange can do with this team.

Vicario
Porro
VdV
Romero
Udogie
Sarr
Bentancur
Madders
Son
Richy
Deki

And then allow him to bring on the likes of Dragusin, Royal, Biss, Johnson, Solomon, Werner and Veliz.

I don't think it'll happen this season for us, but next season I reckon we will be fizzing.

Bold to go with just the ten, but would be even stronger with Udogie too.

Add bissouma as well

I want to see

biss bents and Maddy

also bent SAR maddy

biss SAR bent

all combos are great

I think we will see a far better bissouma when he has the strong defence behind him and the class in midfield with him

since he went off at Luton he missed the Fulham win was bakc for palace and since then we have been smashed with suspension and injury

I think he’ll be class again when he has quality around him

I think he coughs because he looks down and drops his voice an octave when answering questions (which he puts down to shyness or something). When he relaxes a bit and maintains eye contact he doesn't do it (see the clips of him talking to that Romanian journalist the other day).

Let's add Mbappe in the summer (I mean if there is one player for Ange) and then let's have it! 😊

You've got to give credit to Ange, a half fit Bentancur and 2 back ups in midfield and we dominate United away.

I thought United tried go toe to toe with us for about 30 minutes and after that they were forced to go on the counter attack.

Considering 2 debuts, no attacking midfielders and our wingers being ineffective (Werners assist apart) it was very impressive. Having VDV and Romero back was a huge help.

Motivation wise he has everyone busting a gut. Now with a break and getting everyone back we should be a real force.

United were probably happier with the draw than us and that says alot.

It briefly crossed my mind earlier in the week that we may not fly out the traps with players returning because you have several players all getting up to speed at the same time.

Thats what I think we saw today.

Romero and VdV just losing their positioning a bit and not being as aggressive as usual.

I think we may need to be wary of expecting Maddison to be on it immediately.

Yeah. In a similar vein, I'm afraid the guys coming back from AFCON and Asia Cup are gonna be fatigued.

After the game, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou praised his players as he revealed that some of his squad had struggled with illness during the week.

Dejan Kulusevski was one of those who missed out because he had been unwell and Postecoglou said: "He struggled all week, he was desperate to play, Skippy [Oliver Skipp], Destiny [Udogie], two or three others struggled this week.

"It doesn't matter - these guys don't make excuses. If we didn't play well today, they wouldn't want me to make excuses.

"It was an enormous effort from the lads."

Sums it up really.

What’s really great is that despite all the concerns before the season started that the way we set up would mean we were exposed, and that we would probably take a few hammerings from the strongest teams, is that by and large we have ground out some really decent results against most of the other top six .

We’ve drawn away to Arsenal, City and Man U and beat Man U and Liverpool at home.

There have been a couple of matches (Chelsea and Brighton spring to mind) where things have fallen apart a bit. But they seem more like anomalies given the overall picture. Generally we have looked solid and resilient, which has maybe surprised a few people.

I like that players coming back from injury are saying to Ange that they can play and help the team, like Romero and Bentancur have. He’s showing trust in his players and obviously observing them closely in training. Pochettino, sorry lads, was always very hesitant about bringing players back except on medical advice to the point of frustration.

What he is doing with a patchwork squad since the chelsea game is literally better than the 10 games unbeaten to start the season. Chelsea was the last time we actually had a starting 11 without a glaring hole in it. 1 max centre back every week before this weekend. then every midfielder who's job is to thread balls through for the wingers out this weekend as well as our most reliable/only reliable goal scorer (richarlison is doing well but I still only back him to scorewhen its on a plate or a header). He is working miracles and I for one am so frustrated just waiting for the day I can watch our true first xi again to see what he can really get us doing.

The way we play I would think they would be glad of the rest , playing for their country. It’s a bit hon but it’s not as if they haven’t experienced it before. I shall be actively supporting our players opponents to get them back quicker .
only chance of an early return is Bissouma with Mali . Last game 4 days before the Cup game. Not likely but we can hope. Son and Sarr will prob be semi finals at least.

I cant see Mali going out, South Africa and Namibia will be garbage we wont have any of them for the cup game. praying we can get lo celso out of his bubble wrap he likes to keep himself in to play with Maddison and Bantancur as he tends to score against city.

Yeah, I also seem to remember there being a much greater emphasis on getting everyone super fit and learning the system during preseason with Pochettino, and also Conte to a degree. To the extent that if a player missed out on a full preseason with the team, there would be a lot of talk like ‘can’t wait until he gets going next season, once he’s had a full preseason under his belt”.

There seems to be less emphasis on this with Ange. Then again that may be due to circumstances given the number of injuries we have had. But still, VdV, Bentancur, Romero, Werner and Dragusin have all either made debuts just days after signing or have returned from injuries to start matches sometimes weeks ahead of when we expected them to be back.
