i mean just cos we got a point I don't understand the positivity for PEH or skipp, skipp didn't get involved at all, PEH tried but still a massive downgrade on our usual midfield

Credit where it’s due, Hojbjerg was very good. Skipp didn’t stop running. Both their performances helped us completely
Dominate the midfield all game.

Utd play like us under Conte, but with a bit more pace and no elite striker to bail them out
It’s actually really weird as Ten Haag at Ajax was high press, high possession, lots of rotations in movement, really beautiful football but yea right now they’re a counter attacking team although credit to us for pushing them back so often.

I don't get why we can't appreciate players without it being assumed we want them as our captains. Sometimes players just play well.
I'm just saying that they weren't 'great'.

They were fine, and Skipp had probably his best game for a while.

But it isn't good enough for where we want to be.

Johnson absolutely shocking
He still has not reached that level of self-belief that very good players have as standard. His decisions will improve when this switches on. He may need a straight-up scrap on the pitch to ignite it.

Shows you just were we are when immediately after the game I’m disappointed at not winning away to Utd, despite missing Maddison, Son, Kulu, Bissouma and Sarr. Can’t wait until the next game. Loving life under Ange with this team.

Well we’ve hit the magic 40 points now so we can’t go down! Prem league for at least another season! COYS!

Richarlison was really excellent I thought. Bentancur was a bit sloppy with his passing at times but did well overall with a lovely goal as well. Missed Kulusevski hugely.

I think people are just being fair saying that for their usual level they both did well today which they did.

But yes agree ofc both are downgrades on our 1st choices in those positions.

Given the team we went out there with I think we should be happy with a point. I'm less enamoured with the midfield three. Hojbjerg did some things really well but also got dispossessed in some really dangerous areas and got caught out of position a few times too. Johnson was awful, Werner not much better. Ange should've made some changes sooner as we had some tired legs out there from 60 mins on and our intensity dropped. Definitely not happy with him not giving a chance to Donley or Santiago especially as Gil is a known and unproductive quantity.

Finally a big shout for Richarlison. Scored a goal, held up play well and more than anything else worked his nuts off. He made some brilliant tackles in our half to break up UTD attacks.

It’s probably easier to implement that in a weaker league with the best players.

Relieved that United didn’t jam their way to a win. Frustrating as like others felt disappointed, however, contextualising where we’re at: Romero & VDV first game back together for a while, no Deki, Madders, Son, Sarr, Biss with limited options on the bench I’m glad that’s one we tick off a Old Trafford.

With those above due back still so much to look forward to.

Felt Timo had a decent game, Richie was battling as well and Bentancur is just such a pivotal player to this system.

Once Deki is back from his illness, Johnson can come off from the bench: looks a bit knackered.

Cannot wait for the City game: the ground will be rocking!

Richarlison lead the line very well today.

Werner needs to get his decision making and shooting boots in but he did more than Johnson who I thought was very safe all game.

I thought Porro was quality today. So dangerous with the ball at his feet. It is so good to have someone who can cross the ball and put the ball into dangerous areas

Skipp and Hojberg improved as the game went on but Bentancur linked defence and attack effortlessly.

Cannot wait for Maddison to get back as I think we will dominate midfield against a lot of teams.

They both played well and helped dominate Utd midfield

He does work hard, he has to press a lot and sprint with the ball, if you’ve played football to a decent level before especially in that type of position you’d realise that those actions take a ton of energy. His end product today was poor and he is a bit weak in challenges sometimes but criticising his work rate is wrong imo.
Gill did more in his 10 minute cameo than BJ did for most of the game. I'm don't dislike Johnson, he's played some good games for us and I understand that he's young and learning, but he played a stinker today

They wont be.

They will cry that they had players out too.

They will also make out they had better chances.

Yet, if you just paid attention to how the 2 teams approached the game and the systems, youd say Ange is the better coach.

Over 2 games he has proven that to me.

And thats me believing Ten Hag was better than most options out there 2 years ago.
Shaw is the only player they are missing who starts for them
