So Premier League is so popular because of its competitiveness. It got so competetive beacues TV revenue is shared between all clubs. It allowed all clubs to get rich and big 6 is already super rich. So rich that even in covid they can make transfers where Bayern, Real, Barca did nothing. What more do they want? In ten years we will only have games against those clubs and everybody will be sick of it.

This will be unpopular but if this happens can’t say I’ll be gutted. The club has been trying to become elite since ENIC turned up. If the big 6 go for a power grab to cement ourselves and we’re a part of that 6 then I’m all for it. I don’t see city or chelsea fans crying that their successes are somewhat hollow. Newcastle fans are fighting to become a soulless oil club as we speak. I just want to see the club win, if this helps then fine tbh

Liverpool and Manchester United were forced to abandon Project Big Picture (PBP) in extraordinary fashion today, backed into a corner by the rest of the Premier League clubs who said that they would never agree to the radical proposals to concentrate power in the hands of the biggest.

The clubs told Liverpool and United that the plan, revealed on Sunday by Telegraph Sport, was a non-starter and that there was no prospect of them agreeing to the measures which, among others abolished the one-club, one-vote democracy and gave 25 per cent of all future revenues to the Football League.

I'm a tad confused... It appears that all the clubs were unanimous in the decision to out this to the back burner. But we know that atleast two if not all six top clubs wanted this and were in favour

So why the fucking furore and what was the purpose of proposing the project then not supporting it...

I don't think there was a vote as such today but a discussion.

This was always going to happen. It will probably backfire on the two clubs instigating it now because the lower leagues will get the support but the bigger clubs won’t get the benefits they wanted instead it will be a vastly watered down version.

What the Glazers and John Henry want is to make money and be secure so that they keep on making money. Their ultimate goal is to tear up the shared revenue model, and for each club to have their own individual TV contract. When that happens only Man U, Liverpool and City will win the title again and football dies. This whole big 6 thing will still screw Spurs eventually.

Shot across the bows. Think we have a new tv deal in negotiations soon and the revamp of the cl. They'll want something more.

I think it’s a matter of club politics that Liverpool and United voted against this today. The premier league will often vote as a block to project unity.

I don’t think this is dead, the clubs agreed to review the structure of the game before the next tender for broadcasting rights, so a lot of these proposals will come back around.

The next few months should be interesting.

They're not idiots. Or at least the people working for them aren't. There is a stategy and a goal. They'll get something at the end.
