Southampton is a different story, they don't have ability to score 5 goals in 30 minutes, we need good defense on our right side. City also have to nullify Son and Kane, we obviously won't outplay them in midfield.

I’m sure Pep is a very good coach but this is the problem with these financially doped up clubs.
Peps record in finals is incredible, but when you’ve won those titles with Barcelona, Bayern and Man City I always question just how impressive it actually is ??

I agree. If Bale starts he wouldn’t last the full game.
Coming on after the hour mark, we might get some free kicks if our attackers run against the tiring City defenders. If would be a good time for Bale to hit his free kicks (hopefully Kane or Dier won’t take the fks)

Midfield is the key area, City have gone with experience and serious creativity. We’ve gone with a half fit Lo Celso, a tough tackler and Mr sideways lol
I know Ndombele was poor during the week but the gulf in class between him and Winks is ridiculous. I personally would have played Lo Celso alongside Hojbjerg and pushed Ndombele further forward.

I see some comments saying Moura is a better choice than Bale because he is more likely to 'track back', unfortunately most of the times he has to 'track back' is because he has given the ball away due to poor control!
Against City the best way to protect our erratic defence is to retain possession, not give the ball away stupidly and take the few chances that come our way, surely Bale is by far the better option in this case.
Of course he could change the game from the subs bench but that will only work if we are still in the game at the point.
