On his day he's brilliant for City and England but they are few and far between these days that's why they are prepared to let him go. I believe a couple of seasons back he was wanted by RM but City said no way. Seems things are different now.I wouldn't even call Sterling elite. Always thought he's overrated.
Sterling is 26 and very reliant on his rapid pace. I would guess he has 2-3 years left before he starts to lose his pace and rapidly declines. It's almost certainly bullshit but I'll entertain it. Whilst on paper Sterling would be an excellent addition (never really rated Jesus), I'm always wary of signing players on the downward trajectory of their career. That slope can suddenly become very steep. You'd have to question the motivation levels too. Jesus might have a bit more to prove there. But yeah, isn't happening.
Even with Kane still here, elite players won't want the type of salary that Spurs will pay, when financially doped clubs can offer them far bigger money. This is why we absolutely cannot let Kane leave. He’s invaluable to us — we have no pull at the moment to land elite players.
I'm sure I've heard that said during every window for the last 5+ years. In reality, clubs have instead turned to staggered payments, add-on bonuses and sell-on clauses.I think player swaps or make weights will be more common place in the current market, but not between Daniel Levy and oil rich City with infinite wealth
At a push I’d accept Laporte in a Kane deal as he would elevate our defence exponentially
Man City doesn't spend crazy fees on individual players like PSG/Barca/Real. Their record signing cost a fraction what they'd have to stump up for Kane and it's 5 years since they last broke their club transfer record, despite prices inflating massively since then. Why are they making this difficult?
They have near unlimited resources and can make an offer we couldn't refuse in this climate.

Oh come on.Man City are offering Raheem Sterling AND Gabriel Jesus to Tottenham in a bid to land Harry Kane. The Premier League champions are so desperate to beat neighbours United and Euro conquerors Chelsea to the England skipper that they will let both stars go in part-exchange.

I don’t think swap deals are a bad idea as a rule, but not with Kane. If you want one of the top 5 players in the world then pay up or do one.
Sell the players you don’t want(if you can) and put an offer in. I’m guessing City are struggling to meet FFP with this and struggling to get interest in players that are on massive wages.
That's fine because I am highly doubtful that we'd get Jesus or Sterling. Martial maybe.I do not want anybody's second hand goods. Sterling, Martial, Jesus etc. If Harry Kane has to leave then we should just want cash and rely on the club to bring in suitable players. Let us see how sincere Daniel Levy really is about rebuilding the DNA of this team.
Personally I regard both Sterling and Rashford as two of the most over rated players in the Premier League. I am quite sure Sterling will not be a part of the City set up next season whatever happens as Pep has recognised his failure to convert chances and will get rid. That's fine because I am highly doubtful that we'd get Jesus or Sterling. Martial maybe.
Why would Sterling come to Spurs no chance?
The Sun paper what a joke....swap deals don't work for chips. In terms of strikers I actually like Jesus and we should be looking at him with or without Kane.
