His best season he scored 14 goals in a side that create for fun stick him in a lesser side he struggles - he isn't prolific and never will be
He's also never been 1st choice regular starter for them...

I'm not as worried about them getting Jesus as I was Richarlison but I don't think Jesus is as bad as some are making out and if he goes there and is their main n.o9 and gets an arm around the shoulder and is made to feel like he's the main man he could well score a good chunk of goals for them.

He is a good player, its a good signing for them. Not sold its what they need, but it strengthens Arsenal.

It's all a matter if perspective, I guess.

Are they better off than end of last year with nketiah as their best forward? I guess so.

Are they better off than start of last year with Aubameyang as their forward? I don't think so.

Just for some perspective. Last seaon.

Jesus 28 appearances, 8 goals playing for the best team in England.
Callum Wilson 18 appearances, 8 goals and was out injured for 4 months playing in a relegation threatened team.

£45m with a year left on his contract. Great bit of business by the Arse

Yeah is he better then peak Aubameyang, no way. But he strengthens them from last seasons Aubameyang. Like I said, I think he is a good player, not necessarily a great one but sometimes fits are better and he may fit better at Arsenal, guess we will find out.

On the other hand, Jesus’s goal+assist/90 over his City career is insanely high - nearly a goal or assist per 90. It’s higher than Kane’s, and up there with Auguero, Salah, and Henry basically. It will be interesting to see how he transitions from impact sub to starter. If he maintains that level of production, he’ll be immense for them. Or we’ll see why he was the backup striker for a team with 0 other strikers. He might just be a player that is better off the bench or in a support role, not as the focal point for an attack.

I’m not going to try to convince myself he’s a dodgy signing for them because he’s a good player and he’ll improve them.

That said, we’ve got Son and Kane, City have Haaland, Liverpool have Salah. These are players in another stratosphere compared to Gabriel Jesus, and that is the gap Arsenal have to bridge. It won’t be easy and is a lot of pressure for the guy.

We just need to focus on what we need to do in the market to close the gap on the teams above us ?

You do have to remember though the volume of chances City create and the amount of time City spend knocking on the door of the opposition.

That significantly increased the potential to score and create assists.

Arsenal try to be that team but are quite often rigid or don't do much with their possession. so Jesus isn't going to get into those situations as often.

He was also playing with incredibly intelligent ballets like Bernardo, De Bruyne and Gundogan who are able to create space for others. Not saying Jesus didn't so that too but Arsenal would need to match that level

never said he was bad he plays for City who are a top side he is obviously not a mug - but his best season when he played regularly he scored 14 goals not to shabby but he played for a side that create for fun and probably there biggest weakness has been not having a central striker who finishes so buying the fellow who is part of the weakness as your solution for a goal scorer isn't a guaranteed solution far from it - I think with him for me his goal to chance ration always strikes me as being quire high - the other point is that apparently he prefers not to be play as a central forward which is what he has been bought for - I said before they bought him that I don't fancy him as a player and I still think the same he will score goals but I don't see him as top line striker who will lift them beyond where they are now which is just above mid table with the same fragility that they have shown under a manager who is weak and tactically lacking

For me the most telling stat for a forward is the goals versus expected goals. Son is one of the best in the world. Kane is normally right up there but was pretty poor last season due to his bad start. Jesus is just SO SO bad. Arsenal will not create that many chances per game based on last season. I see him struggling to get into double digits, but just know this post won’t age well :)

Is definitely a very good signing for Arsenal and will improve them. I think the movements made by Chelsea, Arse, Spurs and Utd in the last week are setting up a potentially special season in the PL, not forgetting Liverpool and City signing the two hottest talents up front! Could be a cracker and we might need the winter break watching plodding football to take a breather!

He also bottled it for Brazil under pressure when being made the main man at the World Cup. Zero goals zero assists

Would you swap him for any of Kane, Son or even Kulu?

Course you wouldn't...

That's appropriate perspective...

Different players suit different teams. He’s a good player and good signing for them, there is really no denying that.

If we played a fluid quick passing 4-2-3-1 I probably would consider him vs Kane, but as an all round striker and playmaker in a 3-4-3 Kane is better. Comparing him to Son/Kulu in our 3-4-3 fairly pointless as he’s not the same kind of player really. I do find it funny with the Arsenal bias how some of our fans just completely write off and rubbish certain players etc, Jesus is a top top player who just needed regular games and an arm round the shoulder, he’s a massive confidence player that is very obvious.
