Just for a bit of fun really...how up or down does Spurs get you?
Any funny or good stories of smashing TV's and strops and/or absolute euphoria from supporting our absolutely mad rollercoaster of a football club?
Personally when I was younger late teens and early 20's I let Spurs performances and results really get to me, as I've 'matured' so to speak I'm a lot more balanced generally with the ups and downs of our performances and results.
I do remember not speaking to a few Gooner mates when they beat us early 2010's I think when Adebeyor scored early on then proceeded to get a red card and we collapsed, just lost my head with them in a bar that day and walked out after 70mins and didn't speak to them for a few weeks was about the most annoyed I've gotten.
Best 'highs' were:
-Carabao cup final win over Chelsea
-Most good NLD's like the 4-4 and 2-3 at their gaff and the more recent times home wins
-Crouch's goal at the Etihad to take us into 4th place for the first time in the PL (went out with some mates that night absolutely epic, singing Spurs songs all night, at the time felt like we'd won the league)
-Beating Chelsea at Home in the league for the first time in ages, I think it was a Dawson header and Aaron Lennon yellow/gold booted finish, the atmosphere pre, during and post that match was like nothing I've ever known.
-Gareth Bale destroying Inter Milan
-Final season and final game at the lane brough some tears
-CL Semi final was just utter disbelief and euphoria as to what I'd just seen and knowing I'd be going to Madrid to see Spurs play in a CL final
-When we signed Van Der Vaart, Keane and Defoe I was over the moon with all of those signings at the time
Some 'lows':
-The late 90's and 00's against Chelsea and Arsenal when we took some brutal losses wasn't fun
-Being furious when Mendes scored from the half-way line and Carroll threw it 5 yards over the line but it wasn't given!
-When Chelsea beat Bayern in the CL final knocking us out of the CL positions
-Losing to Portsmouth in the FA Cup Semi Final under Redknapp
-Being at games against the likes of West Brom etc when their goalkeepers used to take literally minutes with every goal kick and the rage just building up
-Battle of the Bridge when we imploded and threw away our last title hope
-Coming 3rd in a 2 horse race travelling up to Newcastle and seeing us lost 5-1 on the final day to somehow finish 3rd after being in the title race with Leicester all season
Moods after frustrating losses have been known to last a good few days
Some just crazy and/or 'Spursy' games:
-Losing 3-5 to Man.U when 3-0 up at HT!
-Losing 3-4 to Man City when 3-0 up at HT and they were down to 10 men!
-Our 4-4 125 year anniversary home game against Villa under Jol
-6-3 against Reading
-Selling Berbatov and replacing him with Fraser Campbell
-Lasagnegate
-9-1 against Wigan
-The Man.City CL Quarter Final
-The CL Semi-Final vs Ajax 2nd leg
No particularly funny stories but certainly a fair share of ups and downs and emotional rollercoasters!
Any ups, downs, Spurs games or moments or OTT anger or euphoria or funny emotional moments when supporting Spurs you guys would like to share?
