Liverpool were a whopping 18 points better off at this point in the 2019-20 season, when they won their only PL title. Pochettino was sacked 12 games into the 2019-20 season with only 2 points fewer than Liverpool currently have after 12 games, despite having led us through our most successful spell during the PL era in the preceding years. It will be interesting to see whether Liverpool's board is more patient with Klopp than we were with Poch, as I don't really see any signs of them turning their form around within the next few weeks.
No chance they will sack Klopp.

Decent chance he walks away at the end of the season.

He has worn out his squad and they have nothing more to offer. His time at Liverpool has been fantastic but the team is burnt out. Time for him to move to a fresh team and fresh faces.

I think these comments of Liverpools demise are more hope than anything.
They're on a bad run, yes, and they could use some midfielders but thats still a very good team with some very very good players.
They are not gonna sack Klopp.
I wouldn't be surprised if they stuff us 3.0, they're still more than capable of doing that, so I'd give it a rest with the tales of demise until after we've played them to be honest.

They didn’t just sail close to the sun- unfortunately they went right up grabbed a PL & CL trophy and one of those trophy wins fucked with my head for a very long time.
Slags.

They can always turn up for one off games but the trend is there for all to see.

As the City game showed, they can turn it on. But they're increasing struggling to both be consistent and break down the lesser teams. I think they may well turn it round after the World Cup break but if they're still shaky when we get through the winter then we can talk openly about demise.

I'll be honest though, the scousers aren't wrong. They were the only legitimate team in the league that were competing with the doped up monstrosity that is City. We're going to have to wait a couple more years for Newcastle to catch up before we can look forward to a real competitive league.

Not saying I wanted Liverpool to win it, their fans are some of the most annoying on the internet. It's just a case of if City win, it's not much of an achievement. It's what should be happening.

Spot on but they also got lucky with donations from doped up clubs.

50 million for torres
150 million for Coutino
50 million for sterling

They did buy well, Torrres allowed them to buy Suarez for example

If we want to catch city we need to buy very well, our recruiting was shocking for a long time.

Yep.

The one thing about City lately is they rarely get it wrong in the market. Bought a few duds but shifted them on quickly enough.

They arent the only club thats competed with Man City, they're just the most recent and seem to think that nobody else has ever done so. As usual they're wrong.
Man City have been financially doped for a very long time and were winning titles while Liverpool were floundering around the top 7.
We came 2nd and where were the rest of the pack then? Where were Man City come to that.
I don't care about points totals as every season is different.

Since Pep and Begiristain started running the show City have been a completely different beast. Before that they were more like Chelsea, following title winning campaigns with sloppy ones and cycling through managers.

While it’s a shock they are at maximum value at the moment so good time for them to cash in and sell to the highest bidder.

Fingers crossed the new owners are clueless

They got the result on Sunday but we were darn unlucky not to get at least a draw. Shocking reffing and plain bad luck in front of goal. Yet I see the BBC and others are saying Liverpool are back on track. Nonsense.
