I can't see them escaping the ban, only delaying it. If Sarri stays their squad needs a lot of work to get him the players he needs for his system. If he goes then a new manager is going to want to bring players in. Fingers crossed that their appeal is handled swiftly and rejected so the ban can begin this summer.
But it takes a manager willing to play them, if they keep getting the likes of Sarri, the youth will never get a chance.

When they appeal it will just allow them to do what others have done. You must remember that when they appeal the amount of time it takes will mean they will have time to buy in the next window as the ban only comes into affect imedietly if there is no appeal.
This will only mean that Chelsea will buy say 4 players in the next window instead of 2.
Thus making the ban completely ineffective and may even work in there favour as they will have more time to bed in to the side as they are unlikely to start all new buys at once .
Typical EUFA about as much good as a chocolate fireguard and you can bet your bottom dollar that if it had been a lower tier club the ban would have had no appeal allowed or found a way to make there ban take effect immediately.

There really should be a points deduction (or likewise) in place for stuff like this. As you say, fines don't deter these clubs and they always find a way around it. Start to hit them where it really hurts, start to show them that fair play rules are in place for just that.

Fines are bullshit, as was that silly UEFA Champion's League squad restriction thing - points deductions or banning from competitions are the absolute only way to put a stop to this sort of thing.

In fact it still won't put a stop to it, as clubs will still mostly get away with it, but it will at least properly punish those who get caught.

Depends on how much time they are allowed before launching an appeal and how long it will take to hear that appeal. When does the summer transfer window open?

Didn't they get a ban before for the same thing?

Ashton has been told they're looking at Steve Holland as Sarri's replacement.
Nothing to do with this thread but he's also been told that OGS is trying to buy a house in Hale, Manchester...so that's nice as well.

Holland is the one who gave it large to Poch during the battle of the Bridge wasn’t he? Next time he see Poch was at our training ground with England and Poch basically put him firmly in his place.

Yep, and from what Ive read it was down to Poch pushing the FA, why Holland had to choose between England and Chelsea.

So the Chelsea ban isn’t unexpected but surely the much bigger story and one that’s been a bit overshadowed in all this is the FA’s fine in regards to minors. I mean, what’s that for, because it doesn’t sound good!

Even if they get this summer they are still in a massive mess. There’s absolutely no way Hazard is staying as they likely can’t sign next summer they’d have to sell this summer or lose him for free. Willian been wanting out for ages and 30+. Pedro and giroud 30+. Higuain I’d imagine will be gone. So bar Pulisic they near enough need a whole new front line. That’s before you get onto their defence. They probably need to sort 7/8 players can they really do that all in one summer and plan ahead for another year. On top of that you have other clubs knowing they have to sort stuff in one window. On top of that next summer the loan rules change and they may have to shift 20-30 players who are currently on loan. Wtf happens with the manager when all this is going on is anybodys guess. Plus you have an exiled owner that’s probably had enough, he bought Chelsea as a play thing, not a massive headache. It’s one thing on top of another, be a miracle if they can challenge for top 4 in next 2 or 3 years. Only hope is they get a youth orientated manager and a load of their kids come good which with Hudson Abraham Mount RLC da silva is a possibility.

I see your point, but don't they still have Morata & Batshuayi?

I can't actually laugh at Chelsea. Everything they do is so sordid and gross that it just makes me feel disgust. Poor old Arse, God love 'em, I can have a good old chuckle about, but not this shower.
