Really? 2 games in to a season when we lost to a Man Utd team whoe everyone expects to finish above us anyway and have invested hundreds of millions and then a poor 20 minutes against Stoke.

It's still early days. People have become hysterical, negative and sensationalist on here. I'm not meaning to attack you, but the general underlying tone and non appreciataion of context by many posters has started to really frustrate.

I'm not in a position of real optimism, but I can see how early in the season we are and the huge promise of several players we have in our ranks also with the understanding that we will bring more players in.

Far too early to be so despondent.
My despondency has been festering for the last two seasons, and I've seen little so far to convince me that this season is going to be any better,

I dont think anyone is especially hysterical or negative mate rather that there are justable concerns that again the team is not ready for the start of the season.
Meaning we are still weak in certain areas which get exploited by the opposition as we have clearly seen in the first two games.
Im confident enough to feel we will be fine eventually but if we do get beat today then we could be about 8-9 points behind some of our closet rivals for 5/6th, even at this stage that is quite a gap plus we dont look mentally or tacticaly capable of beating the big teams around us right now.

Hope I am wrong but think we will get beat today, it's all about mentality of the players as someone has already mentioned we have no leaders and that worries me. If we do lose I can see us heading for a 2 or 3 points from 8 scenario and some ugly reactions from the fans.
Not like you foxy, usually so upbeat...
Is the clue in your name here possibly...;)

It's not the 3 points I am referring to ... we will eventually grind out enough points over the season to be comfortable around 6th/7th without being anywhere near challenging for top 4 - resigned to that. I was referring to a win papering over the tedious over coached nature of our play. I want to see a Spurs that excites me the way it always used to, with the flair players being given the freedom to express themselves and getting fans off their seats watching Spurs again, if we can't compete with the top 4 lets at least be good to watch. Although I fear with this coach that will never be the case.

I can sort of see where your coming from with this because the side does lack any freedom of expression its a boring style of football to some.
But he is trying to install a possesion based game probably similar to what Barca do, and many disliked them and spain for being boring.

Seems strange playing on 3 Saturdays running, probably does happen occasionally but feels like a long time since it's happened.

Leicester will be up for this but I think we can pull the 3 points out the bag on this one.

Last 10 premiership games, Leicester 25 from 30 available points. Best in the league.

Spurs 13th with 12 from 30.

I think it would be unfair to draw any comparison to Barca, although I understand where you are coming from re the possession model but the key difference is that, obviously ignoring the quality of players, MP hasn't integrated any flair into the team it all looks very rigid and over coached.

I want Clinton and Pritchard to be involved today to give us something different from the bench rather than the players he introduced last week. Pochettino probably too cautious to start Clinton from the start.

Can't believe the garbage that's coming out of mouths already.

It will be a sad day if we all had the same opinion. I'm one of the most positive posters around and I think my biggest concerns is that if we don't start winning the fans will turn. I really think generally expectations need to be lowered for this season.

think we will lose, but not by the margin some of the leicester fans seem to think, its like they think theyve turnt into a madrid/barca based on 2 good results. yet spurs fans are one of the most deluded in the country

I have a ticket and I'm lying in bed contemplating whether to go or not. This is the first time in over 20 years I've not considered going to the game..

We are excellent on the counter attack and normally teams like this sit behind the ball and counter us. Leicester's wins will probably mean they'll come at us and we will pick them off. Miss this match? There's a chance we'll be winning big today. COYS!

Is this post ironic?
Just asking mate, I often miss irony...

I agree, the so called smaller clubs are well organised this season and this has been reflected in their performances. Us on the other hand have issues that are glaringly obvious to everyone. It would be typical of Spurs to let Poch go before our proposed new signings are settled lol. Today will show if he's up to the job as having a plan b and c will be essential today.

On the other hand, we have pruned down most of the deadwood and have a promising youth set up, so if Poch gets fired, it's not like his successor has anything to worry about. Who did Poch sign that can be moved on? We have Toby and a bunch of unproven youngsters that can be moulded.

I do not know if I want us to win if that means that Levy will not bring in anyone or Poch thinks he can get away with incompetence or the lack of balls. But Levy will probably just panic buy someone to sell on next year. It's a lose lose lose situation.

Yes i certainly wasnt drawing comparisons to Barca but was trying to say what style he is trying to implement, and yes its boring to watch.
I would not mind so much if we were harder to beat or score against but that is not the case as we are always opened up too easily, but we have to give him time to complete his Project even if the style of play is similar to avb.
