From Spurs Official Site:

BARNARD TO SOUTHEND

We have reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Lee Barnard to Southend United.

Academy product Lee broke into the first-team at the end of the 2005/06 season, making his debut as a substitute against Manchester United and featured in a further two Premier League games against Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United.

‘Barney’ has also previously picked up league experience during loan spells at Leyton Orient, Northampton Town and Crewe Alexandra.

We wish Lee all the best for the future.

Good Luck Barney

Once a Spur always a Spur , will be looking out for you

Really? Sol Campbell will be happy to hear that!!!

In all seriousness, fair play to Barnard... he scored alot of goals for our reserves and tried his hardest when given first team opportunities.

I feel the standard was just beyond him, hopefully he will find his level at Southend and excell for them. Good luck to the lad

Last season's injury ruined his Spurs career

I disagree. I always believed that if he was good enough he would have made a breakthrough sooner. It's very tough at the top and he's better off dropping down the leagues.

Tough break for Barney!!
Scored a hatful in the reserves - shame he didn't really cut it in the first team.

Good lad though.
Lots of luck to him

Bad timing with injuries throughout his career. Was never going to be world class, but had the attributes to be a potential decent Premiership player in the Andy Johnson, or dare I say it, Darren Bent, mould.
