i usually like to read the thoughts and views of others on this forum as usually there are some good articles. however the only time i did post was on lee barnard as i had informed knowledge of him having played with him when i was younger, and i stated then that he was not good enough for spurs, to which i was met with hostility on some parts, which i found amazing based on his stats for first team football i dont even know if he will make an impact for southend, although he will work hard for the team so they have bought workrate and a team player i guess. so im very pleased tonight to know that we managed to get some money for him and that Juande only took a few weeks to realise once he had returned from crewe that he wasnt gonna be troubling the first eleven.
I think he'll work his way back up the leagues. I daresay if the Community was running back when we released Crouch there would be a few "he was shit anyway" and "i always knew he wouldn't make it" posts!
what makes you think that a player who has scored 4 goals in 36 appearances will climb back up to premiership standard. Just because he started as a yid does not mean that he is class, although i love our club even we have shit players at the club
Good luck to him, and hopefully he does well for them, he didnt really have much hope of making it into the first team with the players we have upfrount just now, hopefully the next crop will show enough to push for a spot now and then
I was at that game tonight, with a mate who's a big Leeds fan, and Barnard looked really good, especially in the second half, where he caused Leeds no end of problems, holding the ball up superbly and, on a few occasions, turning his man and getting quick attacks going.
If he carries on like that, I think he'll shine at Southend and definitely attract the attention of a few clubs come the summer. Looked too good for Division 1, by a country mile.
