Just posted this on another forum, the general feeling was that Ledley shouldn't even be on the list Eek

Thank God Carragher isn't ahead of him anyway. I think Ledley is better than Ferdinand. It's just Ferdinand plays for United. If Ledley played for United, or any of the Sky 4, he'd be top.

What the fuck? Some dude has played two games and he's on that list!!!

Most of us on here cannot stand Terry Henry, but most of us would grudgingly admit he's one of the best strikers around.

When asked who the best defender he's ever played against, Henry said Ledley King. For a goon legend I think that speaks volumes and for once I trust the opinion of a goon legend over some treacherous so-called fans on here who insist Jar-Jar Binks is better.
Here you are, I hope the people who rate Jar-Jar and Vidic ahead of Ledley are ashamed of themselves, better still, fuck off and support Man Utd.

Ferdinand is the best, King second. How vermaelen is already there i dont know.

King would be top if he was playing for any of the top3.

and btw, who cares what they think? As long as we do well, I dont care what anyone else thinks.

A fully fit King would be top of that list - he would be one of the best in the world, not just the prem

There is no arguin that statement the problem is the first 3 words. He would be the first name on the sheet every game however he aint fully fit and if you can't rely on a player being fit he cant be top of the list I think 4th spot in his current condition isn't bad for a player who doesn't train fully. Carragher and the new Arsenal player should be nowhere near the list Woddy should be on it.

Have you ever watched a game with Vidic in it? Every 2 mins you will hear 'cleared by Vidic', 'Headed away by Vidic', 'Won by Vidic'. It actually started to get annoying in the FA Cup semi against Everton the amount of times I heard his name.

Vidic also has a phenominal leap, King might be a bit more level headed as I am pretty sure Vidic has a screw loose and every now and again he can go crazy.

Vidic is number 1 IMO

Thomas Vermin shouldn't be in there and Hangeland shouldn't be as high (he's good but this will be a testing season for him, if he performs as well then fair comment)

I think 4th is fair in view of Kings injuries and therefore lack of caps / CL appearances.

If he'd never been seriously injured we would have ended up selling him for big bucks a couple of years back.

1. Ferdinand
2. Carvalho
3. Vidic
4. King

Ledley would be #1 but for injuries but 4th is a fair reflection I think

Exactly.

Makes it all the more shameful that people on here can say ferdinand is better and even worse, expect their opinion to be taken seriously.

apparently King has yet to reach double figures in terms of cards issued during his whole career... pretty amazing for a centre back playing in the PL for the past ten years...

i would have Woodgate and Toure in that top 10 ahead of Gallas and Vermalen...

IMO Ledley King is the best defender in the world, absolute class.

King is brilliant, but I think the Mirror have probably got the top 4 about right. Ridiculous that Woodgate is not in the list - The Scum defender should not be in there, neither Lescott who I think is so over-rated.

Jagielka was the better defender in the Everton side last season, Lescott just stole the headlines with his goals. Carvalho is also way above Terry.

Woody and Toure should also be in instead of Vermaelen and Gallas.

If King was fit he'd be number 1. However, he isn't and never will be, so unfortunately he has to be downgraded accordingly.

1. Ferdinand
2. Vidic
3. Carvalho
4. King
5. Terry
6. Toure
7. Carragher
8. Hangeland
9. Woodgate
10. Jagielka

Lescott and Gallas 11 and 12. Upson also has to be considered but falls just short imo. Vermaelen hasn't been in the country long enough to be considered.

Ferdinand then King for 1 and 2.

But if my Dream Team had to play more than a match a week (and for more than one more season) there's a few I'd pick over King
