Last night I was at the Kyle Walker Q&A (thanks to an invite from a friend). The event, arranged by SportingBet was a behind-closed-doors evening at White Hart Lane where we could all ask questions and have a picture with Kyle Walker. There were about 35 of us there.
I just wanted to say what a lovely young man he is! I must admit, my two questions did get the best reception ;-) I asked:
Q: “Congratulations on the birth of your son. You called him Roman, I just wondered what the inspiration was behind that”
A: “Definitely not Pavlychenko” – this was followed by the biggest laugh of the night. He went on to say that his girlfriend chose the name as it’s a strong name.
I then had the last question of the evening and asked him
Q: “Jack Wilshire has promised 3k to charity if we finish above Arsenal, do you think we can do it”
A: “Definitely.” – this got the biggest cheer of the night! :hump:
He was such a lovely, level-headed young man. He came across as incredibly dedicated to the team, to progressing himself and to learning from the great players around him. He laughed a lot (although he doesn’t seem to smile much for the camera).
He also said:
The mood in the squad was great, Adebayor loved it at the Lane and has a good laugh, Luka Modric was the best player he’d ever played with, sometimes he just watches him and is amazed! King & Gallas are great people to learn from and he’d rather face Bale than Lennon! There were loads of questions and he was happy to answer them all. We're lucky to have such a player in our team
