Tottenham Hotspur could look to re-sign Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters in the summer transfer window, with the north-London club having a buyback clause written into his contract.

He's doing very well for Southampton and we have a clear need for wing backs. His contract expires in 2025.

If Southampton don't get promoted then he'll almost certainly be available.

I think he's an option.

There have been plenty of players who have looked good in the championship but found the PL a very different environment. Sessegnon says hi...

To me, this isn't a bad shout. If we get Europe, we will have a lot of football.

We could sell Emerson and buy him, and still have pocket change.

Emerson has more versatility and is a stronger defender than KWP.

part of the reason why we sold him in the 1st place was because he was weak defensively

emerson doesn't have more versatility though as he doesn't fit anywhere in ange's system.

kwp was 22 when we sold him, he's a stronger player than the one that left.

He's physically matured a lot since then. We had him in the squad and the manager decided to never play him or loan him out.

He's clearly progressed once he actually got to play regular football. He appears a good fit for our wing back position. Royal clearly isn't a wing back.

Is he really a good fit for an inverted wingback?

I don't think he is - maybe you can argue for an actual wingback - but that is not how we set up.

Agree. I went to watch them against Plymouth and have seen a few of their games on TV this season. I can't see how our playing style doesn't suit him at all.
it also gets the best out of him as all of his qualities are in possession. he's not a touch-line running wing back. he's a player that likes to take the ball, evade pressure and progress it up the pitch. he also genuinely plays both flanks, not just "can play there" but actually plays there. some of the posts i see about him on here make me think they last watched him in 2019.

I agree - but I think those are the posts pushing to sign him.

He’ll be 27 this summer. I can’t think of any other 27 yo in the Championship that Spurs should be entertaining for a spot on a squad that wants to win the league.

As a last resort - I’d take a shot on his HG status, but only if better options did not materialize.

As of now, I am not aware of any interest from Spurs to sign him. If that changes, I’ll revisit my stance.
