I’m I’ve noticed in a couple of games that after we’ve scored Rodon has hugged Conte. It’s happened more than once or twice so they appear to have a decent relationship.

I can’t fathom how he didn’t get a game above Sanchez
He's always on the bench with him tbf ?

I seem to remember reading on SC that Rodon in Conte's opinion doesn't follow instructions and does his own thing from time to time on the pitch. It seems discipline and following instructions is a big must for Conte.
That's odd. I remember reading something quite different in that he's had a rib injury for some time that he's been training with and that had impacted his performances

Is there a first team player that has played less than him in the last 18 months. Like, ever?
Certainly not had a player as good as he is not get any game time. Very strange.

Now Bentancur is in the side, who actually makes himself available to the CBs for a short pass, I think he would perform a lot better. His weakness is his longer passing whereas before he was being asked to play like Dier which isn't really his skillset.

Shame as he'll join another EPL team and be a very good player.

Sounds like we can put the poor attitude theories to bed then.

Yeah but some bloke from Aberystwyth, on twitter, 18 months ago said that Joe's mum slept with her mum who once drove Joe to training at U14s & apparently he didn't do his boots up up correctly one time.

Quite the hullabaloo by all accounts.

Conte seems to think Rodon can only play centrally in a back 3 when he can play anywhere across the back 3 equally well.

Conte watches him every day in training. There must be pretty sound reasoning to whatever judgement he has.

It's how Conte wants each of those back 3 to play though.

Is Rodon comfortable on the ball, brining it forward?
That's seems to be what Conte wants from the wide cb's, and even Dier was doing it in the last game.

I hope he gets a go here at some point. Even last season Bale was saying about how late Rodon stays after training doing extra work. This season Winks was quoted as saying both Kane and Rodon are the two players that stay behind after training to do extra work.

It's clearly not about attitude or effort with Joe.

Would be reluctant to sell him at this stage. A loan move to a solid PL club would do him the world of good. Yes, we need to back Conte but history shows he doesn’t stay at clubs too long. Plan for the future and keep some talented homegrown players about somehow.

Quite a bizarre scenario to be honest.

Given the lack of form/injuries across the back three at various stages I'm perplexed as to why he hasn't been afforded a run of games. The rib injury situation is perhaps the only logical answer.

I've been a Rodon VIP membership dick rider pretty much since he was excellent against Belgium. But what do I know ?

He should be on loan right now at someone like Leeds, Brighton etc

Hopefully he moves on and reignites his career.

When we have seen him it’s clear there are some technical issues with his game but he is all heart. There is a decent PL career out there for him.

Would be a mistake to lose him. Hopefully his lack of playing time is due to rib injuries, although he's played (very well) for Wales recently.

This should be the minimum from all our players... not the exception!

Glad he's working hard, as you need to give 110% when you're not in the side to show consistent effort and willingness to the manager. At the moment, CR, ED, BD have all been very good in a 3. It'd be hard for anyone to come in and replace them. & they rarely need to be substituted so JR stays alert and on the bench. 5 subs next year might make things different.
