Leipzig quoting £80m doesn’t mean that is what he will go for, it is their starting position. If Paratici thinks he can get him for £60m we should let him try

It seems entirely plausible that Leipzig's model is: here is the price, for outgoings we don't really do 'negotiations', but on the other hand every player we have is always available for sale at price x'

My big worry with going massive on an LCB is whether or not they can also work in a back 4. As much as I want Conte here for a long time, I imagine the player will probably outlast him.

I’m less concerned with other positions, because they all seem flexible to the system, but the wide CBs seem way more of a question.

Can you realistically see us buying him for £80m and Bremer? Seems like we want 2 CB’s so it’s unlikely. We also seem to be looking at 1 or 2 forwards as well.

I just don’t think our budget stretches that far but I would love it to!
It does if we sell the players we plan to

I wonder if Nkunku signing his new deal (albeit effectively for one year) has meant RBL are now slightly more open to offers for Gvardiol this summer. It'd still take crazy money but I do wonder if something has shifted as Gvardiol's name has started to pop up again.

All the noises coming out are we have a load of cash to spend if we can find the right players/deals. This one could get done, especially if we change tac and go for Richarlison. Essentially saving the outlay on a back up striker.
Ally Gold is saying the vast majority of that 150£ million is available, plus sales plus whatever budget we had to begin with for transfers. That to me is a crazy amount of money.

Think it has already been suggested that there is a plan in the event AC leaves, in that a list of managers that utilise a similar system/formation has been drawn up. Part of FP's role is ensuring that the team does not have to be changed much in the event of a manager/coach change if i remember correctly.

Potter often plays a 3 at the back for example.

Shit the bed, he’s class! His passing out from the back is insane!

Get him in.

He's the ideal candidate in terms of physicality, technical ability and his age. The problem is about £20-30m above realistic (£80m).

If he were in the £55-60m region I think we would have paid that.

That dinked finish around a third of the way in to the video is outrageous for a CB. A lot of experienced PL strikers wouldn't have that composure.

For me, it's the perfect transfer we can make this window.

Whether it's achievable is another matter.

A different type of player to VVD, but Liverpool spending £75m made all the difference for them. I have no issues spending similar wedge on this guy. I think he’d be phenomenal for us. Looks tailor made for the premier league.

We know from various sources and ITK that we actually wanted to splash circa 60m pounds on Bastoni, so its safe to assume that we could well try to offer something similar for this lad. I wont get my hopes up, but i wouldn’t rule it out just yet too

Honestly if we could get Gvardiol for 65/70m, having been willing to pay 60m odd for Bastoni, we should do it.

Less experienced but a far higher ceiling, and frankly given the cheap Perisic/Spence/Bissouma signings I'm not sure we're going to be splashing the cash on anywhere but LCB and our forward. Should be more than possible to get both Richarlison and Gvardiol.

My main worry would be that even if we agreed a fee, his agent would call chelsea instantly and they would gazump us for him

Exactly! Should easy be the money for those two and then any outgoings can cover maybe bremer and 1 other advantageous sighing
