Nothing would make most people on SC happy despite Herc's best intentions in saying that.

The actual important bit is Herc said the selling club would need to find a replacement first. Lingard is a free agent, there is no selling club and therefore he is not the player Herc was talking about.

I really can’t see it. Must be an option if we are desperate. Plus the first team football issue for him if he came to us would still be there especially if he wants to go to the World Cup. He’d be better off going to a mid ranking team as he was in the England side while at West Ham and playing regularly. That has to be in his mind.

He's probably just waiting for the options to all present themselves, then he'll make a choice. No real rush for him because I'm sure he'll are fair few suitors, he's probably just looking for the biggest club possible.

I think we do need another good HG player for the UCL. Lingard however would be underwhelming.
