Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Jesse Lingard has reportedly decided he wants out of Manchester United this summer. BBC Sport claims the Red Devils forward has no interest in talking to incoming manager Erik ten Hag about his future. Spurs were linked with Lingard during the January transfer window.

I'd take him. Proven at WH that he's far more capable and reliable than the other shite we've spent over £50m on.

I accept he was a good player - who is coming to the end of his great career. He deserves to be snapped up by a mid table club - someone like Newcastle - who he would help enormously for 3 or 5 years. He is seeking a move as Man U are looking to invest and strengthen their team / re set / restructure themselves to be a top 4 contender once more.................

If we even consider signing him - it truly demonstrates that the (weak) Board's ambition is to remain a top 6-10 club. My logic is that if we buy world-class players and buy for the future - we will become a top 4 / Champions league club. The Board's strategy seems to have always been / and remains: to buy players on the cheap / last minute / from clubs being relegated / from clubs wanting to offload surplus players who are not quite cutting it anymore / or take a chance on a player who probably cannot take the demands of an intense premier league. Sometimes we are lucky........ mostly as our transfer policy and success rate shows) ....... we are not.

Our current position - more reflects United / Arsenal / Chelsea / Leicester and others poor performance - than our great success.

Where are we - 20 points from the top / 20 points from mid table and 40 points from relegation. About were we will remain - under the (passive and ineffective) Boards current strategy and policy.

The Board's strategy and transfer policy is embarrassing us - and them - and does not really attract great numbers of new fans. How many kids have Spurs shirts in the park ...........not as many as the top 4 clubs!...........How many Spurs supporters do you bump into in Pubs / at work / socially - compared to the top 4.............. This is a practical demonstration of Levy's (and the passive Board's) strategy and (past / current) transfer policy

Which clubs are featured on Super Sunday live TV matches - the contenders? And what happens to Tottenham - shown on the late nigh replays - not Live! Could anyone really see Lingard
linked to City / Liverpool / Chelsea / Arsenal or any other club aiming for the top 4 next year?................ Ido not think so!

Under the Board's (non-ambitious) strategy and transfer policy .........I see us in 5th / 6th or 7th place yet again - next season..........and yet more embarrassing comments from rival supporters.

To Levy and the Board - buy like champions (from Champions. and buy players who are - still -champions) and we are likely to be champions!!!!

Spurs for life!

I'd also take him. He's a tenacious fucker and, beyond Son, Deki & Kane, were not exactly flowing with goal scoring options.

I'd be very surprised if Conte wasn't interested & it kept funds free for other areas.

I suppose the question is whether he'd be happy to come as a squad filler or not. My guess is he wouldn't.

Could be better/bigger fish than us trying to sign him mate.

That sort of decision is left to the likes of yourself, the scouting team & Conte himself.

I'm just a twat with a phone.

Man U have treated him pretty poorly since his West Ham loan.

I wouldn't be against it personally but only if all the other spots were definitely filled, and only by people Conte wants.

Bizarrely enough, I'm in Wiltshire these days and I regularly see people wearing Spurs gear round here. There's no decent football teams (of near PL quality) around here, so it can be eclectric.

I'd advise you not to assume that your view of the world is only a minuscule one. The support for teams in the PL is generally ordered by the table, because the vast majority of PL football fans are not in the UK, and thus have no regional tribalism. They will default to glory-supporters, which has faff all to do with the players we target.

For example, if we replaced Lingard with Ndombele last summer, you can be absolutely assured that at the very minimum we'd get a par result.

Which clubs are featured on Super Sunday live TV matches - the contenders?

The ones that play in Europe during the week. You're making stuff up.

We spent decent money on a quality young CB last summer (Romero) and upgraded two of our starting XI spots in January with signings from Juventus (one of Europe's elite). Emerson hasn't lived up to expectations, but was on paper a good young prospect from Barca (one of Europe's elite).

I'm unsure what is "non-ambitious" about that. I can only assume your idea of an ambitious policy would be attempting to sign the star players from teams who are currently better than us (i.e. a policy that is likely to result in us being repeatedly knocked back rather than improving our team).

At 29 his options of a top club as a starter is limited. However he did have a great season at West Ham and I'd like to seem him at Spurs. Still has pace and cunning, and a team player.

I think he would be an excellent squad player. On the bench with Bale, our bench would start to look useful at last. No transfer fees needed for either player... What's not to like ?

I'd like him but if he comes we're gonna have to be more attacking. Play this pedestrian, sideways shite then bringing him on wont make much difference.
