Basing any sort of opinion on the amount that teams pay for players is a bit silly.

Or should we also be bang in the market for £35m man Andy Carroll?

FWIW I agree with you that Milner is a good player and would be a useful player in our squad. But he's not nearly as good as Bale.

Carroll went for £35m because Lolpool had £50m burning a hole in their pocket and we were intrested in Carroll at 20m.

and before he joined Citeh was arguably as good as Bale

Reading comprehension ftw

1. Because City haven't had any money burning a hole anywhere have they?

2. That's like saying Chris Armstrong was better than Messi when the latter was 7 years old. Ridiculous.

Keep trying though :)

I dunno, it's stupid really, but I just don't like him. I think he'd fit perfectly into a George Graham Arsenal team... he's just not a Spurs type player.

/prepared for the 'dumb' ratings :)

LOL at u

1: "hes not a spurs type player" wtf is that meant to mean? I'm sure we bought 100's of players who were not spurs type players.

2: the retaliation dumb ratings. I rated your post dumb because it clearly was, you rated my posts (3) dumb as retaliation - grow up.

Decent Levy type signing. Not good enough for the club City want to be, but he's probably good enough for us.

We are split down the middle on this one it seems.

I think he would win over a lot of fans if he did come. His hard work will go far to helping the team and changing peoples opinion of him.

BUT.

I bet it wont happen.

He's a man I think who doesnt have natural position, when he plays CM you think he would look more comfortable on the wing and on the wing you think hes more suited to the middle of the park

Yeah, he'd look pretty decent playing in my local park. My sons might 'skill him up' as they say, and they may be intimidated by his appearance (lack of a neck) but i think the locals would warm to him eventually. :)

"I'm sure we bought 100's of players who were not spurs type players." So you do know what a 'spurs type player' is ;)

I think he would be good for us to have around the place (As H would have said). When you think about the experience we have lost King, Vdv etc, his title winning, champions league pedigree could give us a push... Add his hardworking attitude to what we already have in midfield, and an option on the wings...

Well the bolded part is a bit of a stretch. City haven't exactly been pulling up trees in the champions league.. ;)
