35m£ is way too much for him.

I agree, but I don't give a fuck anymore. I've been patient, but now I want to sign someone. As others have said "it ain't my money". If anyone thinks we got ripped off, I just don't care.
I used to be proud of our austerity, ability to pick up bargains, being top of the net spend league, or wages to turnover league, or someother such shit. I used to laud it over other fans. You might have won whatever, but look how much you spent compared to us, as if I had some kind of moral victory. What a time to be alive, but it's all worn a bit thin now.
I want to win something. I only care about the football, let someone else care about the financials

Quite possibly our only summer signing.
I've never known such a disparity between the early ITK this summer (targets identified; promises made to Poch; want to get some in early; lots to spend) and now, 48h before the deadline (struggling to get a championship player, might be our only one).

Levy has been great for the club, but you need to invest just to stand still. It's only going to be more expensive next year, and if Chelsea and Arsenal get their act together, it's going to be a long season without fresh blood.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

TalkSport saying Grealish due in London for a medical with a London club. If it's not us then this board will probably physically melt down.

Unfortunately it's more like the flat is on the market for 450k and Levy has offered 410k

To me, and maybe I'm a bit out of touch, I'd think £35m for Grealish would be a bit "bright", as my Grandad used to say ... when he used to buy Aston Villa midfielders. Ha! Only joking. They were from West Brom.

Ha! Only joking!

Fucking whoopie......Jack Grealish.

Hugely underwhelmed.

He won't improve the first team.

Might improve the squad.

If the difference is £7m, think of it this way... that only £2m more than the yearly wage hike we just gave our best player.

He'll undoubtably improve the squad. He's a good signing in my opinion, let's not start bitching about us signing a young English prospect. It's not his fault we're not willing to spend on other players as well.

Is there a home-grown player that would improve the first team? Looking at England’s WC team, we have most of the good ones so we could buy back Walker but even there, Trippier looked just as good.

If Tottenham has (probably) the best home-grown contingent imagine the dead-wood other sides must be carrying.

Jack Grealish may be the pick of a diminishing pool.

Yeah - I don't think signing Grealish is the problem. The problem is only signing Grealish.

That puts a lot of pressure on him and the team.

As soon as we were linked to him I wanted us to sign him, it made a lot of sense to me. I just never thought he would be the only signing and I can sense the all we did is sign Jack fucking Grealish pressure being put on him already.

I think we should sign this John McGinn instead of Villa, he sounds quite good and probably at least half the price.:sneaky::sneaky: Listen to what his manager says and get over to you tube quick!!
"He's a fantastic footballer," he added of McGinn, who headed south for talks with Villa on Tuesday.
"I hope we can keep him but it's very difficult when a talent like him is playing like he is.
"His athleticism, his vision, his goals - he's the complete midfield player at the minute.
"We've got an absolute superstar here and I hope to get to work with him a bit longer. Maybe not, though, we'll see."

Get Grealish in and then really try to push the who blinks first on Toby all the way to the wire. I can't wait until Thursday evening when I can sit down and do my dream team squad properly!

Hopefully we get a detailed write up on what's happened because it's been a very confusing window, was poch promised 3 players, what was the budget based on, were we ever actually in for Zaha etc, unlikely but hopefully we get some clarity.

Only £4 million according to the papers, that's £3million less than we are apart on the Grealish fee . I bet we will be after him this time next year anyway!
