Personally: *shrug*

That said Neil Moxley has been firing a lot of blanks this summer. Having actual quotes is interesting depending on who they are from.

For me it isn’t Grealish himself. It is the fact we have tracked him all summer, have very few other options, Poch clearly wanted him and there is a real lack of other alternative home grown talents. I can see why Levy aimed for the cheaper deal but it is still frustrating.

Trix said it was on hold because we were potentially looking at better options, so better hope they come off now

Think this is a game of testing Jack's will, making him hand a transfer request and making him the bad guy instead of the new owners.

That being said, Don't really care if it's true either. I'm far more concerned with the Wide Forward debacle going on.

I can really see this window closing without us even bringing in 1 first team player...

I believe this one is off the table now and im not seeing a great deal of realistic options left for us.

Completely agree. Prices to buy from English clubs will go up with 10 or so days left and foreign clubs will know the pressure we are under

Those articles are surely referencing Bruce's not for sale quotes. Although I haven't actually read them, just going by the headlines

If this is true, and it’s surprisingly authentic-sounding for the Mirror, It’s a bigger blow for Grealish than for Tottenham.

Another season in the Championship instead of the Champions League in a team that’s rebuilding so realistically two seasons to gel and be promoted.

Little chance for him to impress and break into the England squad for the Euros. He clearly loves Villa but will he be happy to stall his career for them?

Tough on the lad.

This isn't about Villa.

Is Grealish happy playing a year in the Championship and stunting his development? No he isn't.

A transfer request will come in.

Not so sure that's going to be the case. If he's settled and loves both the club and being the "star player", he'll no doubt stay. He's only 22 going on 23

This is vintage Spurs.

Although if it has all gone tits up hopefully it will give Levy a kick up the arse with other targets.

Wonder if this is the test of mettle @Hercules was referring to in the ITK thread.

As the new owners cant just rock up and pay the FFP bill they still need to find money from somewhere.

So unless they’re just going to accept the penalty or they have other players to sell.

I can’t see this being true. Plus evidently the mirror just ripped off the story from the twitter account or vice versa.

There was a football finance expert on talksport that said they impaired quite a few assets a while back (training ground, etc...) they could easily revalue to market value which could be an FFP workaround for them.

I'm not fully convinced as I thought FFP was purely player related spending only and infrastructure was fair game. This guy seemed to know his stuff though, he wasn't a washed up old player like most on that station.
